100% serious. The game looks amazing, but I can not get familiar with the controls. Why do I should I even use the analog stick to shoot? Can't I just let off a button at the peak of a shot? If the game had EA like controls, I would be in heaven, but the controls for 2k11 seem so weird and counter intuitive. My players never drive the lane, never dunk, never block shots...they just sit around and commit turn overs.

It's frustrating as ass get out as I can't even beat the first Jordan intro game against the Lakers.

Feel free to help me out.

Yes, you can. If one of the face buttons doesn't allow you to shoot, then you can change your controls in the options if I can recall.

You have to tell them when to cut and when to drive and what not. There are short commands that make your guys cut to the basket and stuff. There are also team emphasis things, like telling your guys to clog the paint and all that.

Well, if you just started playing, naturally you're not going to be good at it.

The most current sports games I regularly play are the 2K Dreamcast titles. Didn't know the newer ones had such wonky controls. Sounds like avoiding them was for the best.

Considering the success of a lot of story based games, I don't think that's an unpopular opinion. I honestly think I'm the only one who disagrees with you.

Also, JRPGs suck. They are one of the most boring things I can think of.

I don't know about suck, necessarily, but as I get older I find it much harder to get into JRPGs.

MrEco wrote: Video games do not have a single piece to their puzzle which someone else hasn't figured out before. They are only unique because they manage to combine all of those aspects into one single medium. People will easily praise a video game that has little or outright no story whatsoever so long as it has good gameplay, but then they'll turn around and outright mock a game for being heavy on story but lacking in gameplay. It's a double standard, and it annoys the ever-loving crap out of me.
That's the issue the game has to find the balance between the narrative and the interaction. Since in, most games, you expend more time playin the game than watching the cutscenes is far more easy to complain about this aspect. I have reached the point of "uug i dont to play anymore, i just want to know what happens next" i tend to play this kind of games in short periods, 1-2 hours, instead of my ussual time, of 4-6 hours.

The stories in JRPGs are the biggest problems. Those stories are meant for 13 year olds.

I resemble that remark. Well, mentally.
