Yup unless something bombs unexpectedly Nintendo refuses to cut prices up until usually a players choice line hits which sucks. If the game I think may not be worth my time I watch for local sales, local oddball clearances, coupons, or aftermarket used. I'd love Mario Kart 8 just to try out the single player, but screw that game for $60 but if I see it at $30 it's mine. I Just don't like the franchise much as I did GBA and before, it's turned into Mario Party on wheels, no skill involved, just luck and item abuse which isn't amusing to me in the least bit.

That is an incorrect statement. If it were opinion, I would say, "Fine," but it is not. Luck is not involved, item abuse is inconsequential as you can create on-line games where item use is turned off. Even when on, there is not a single unbeatable item, as the blue shell can be destroyed and destroyed quite easily.

The items mean that the best person won't always get first, but over the course of a GP I'd expect the best person to have the most points.

Why would someone play Mario Kart without items? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

I feel it does, but that is really in response to Tanooki saying that items make it unfun. If that is the case for him, than turn them off. You can.

I love the items, because you can easily circumvent the most frustrating ones if you play your cards right and I am more of an inclusive gamer than an exclusive gamer. The more people able to play, the better regardless of skill level.

You haven't played the game, have you? Your last sentence does not apply. I'd argue that items are actually too weak this time around. MK Wii was too far in the opposite extreme, of course.

If you had bought MK8 earlier, you would have received another game for free!

Im saying that it has compared to Super Mario Kart and the GBA game shifted far away from a nice balance of racing skill and item use to a lot more about the items, thats all and reading more into that is just silly. No I have not played MK8, I will ifI can find it for half priceas I have zero interest in the online part, just the 1P GP racing circuits and nothing more. And yes I do feel my point of it being mario party on wheels is very fair because over time it has balanced well into favoring the random items that pop up to winning. Mario Party is entirely that as you can rock it with good skill and good rolls to just take it in the ass by the CPU on the last turn and take it down from 1st for 4th and thats exactly how Mario Kart these days work 1P or multiplayer.

I know MK8 had the free game but I own the good ones already with real copies, not digital long term rental downloads so it had no influence on me.

If it was random, I'd be getting Bullet Bills in first place.

I mean, it's way deeper than that, but it's a start to saying that you're completely wrong.

Seriously everytime I'm in first place especially in a single player race, it always seems to stop giving me the useful power ups instead it's coins and peels(which never seem to really help) with a few shells here and there but still not a ton of good powerups when in the top 2....
