The Wii-U has a nice selection of games, but the library of games that actually look great isn't that large. I think 3D World is the only game I'd definitely buy. Windwaker remake and Bayonetta 2 could be fun too, I'm also a fan of the Donkey Kong games, so that could be a nice pick up. Monster Hunter seems pretty gnarly too.

Actually don't really care about Mario Kart and Smash bros this time around. Mario Kart is just...meh..the novelty of it wore off on me by now. Smash Bros I have just felt totally luke warm about, compared to the anticipation of Brawl and this new one doesn't seem all that hyped. If the new Smash is more like Melee, it could be interesting, but it looks a bit too much like Brawl for me to get an erection over it like I have with the past Smash bros.

I think the 3DS has the best library so far by a pretty large amount amongst the new gens. PS4 probably has more upside than the Wii-U though, and it is definitely more cost efficient.

Do you not like first-party Nintendo games? Next year is going to amazing for the Wii U.
What amazing Wii-u exclusives are coming out next year? Can't really think of any games from their big franchises other than that Hyrule Warrior nonsense.

Smash has been extremely hyped online. I want the game but I am actually tired of seeing it. e3 and other show tournaments and being able to play the game at Best Buy during E3 cooled my hype for the game a little. It kinda feels like it already released. Hyrule Warriors is coming out this year, it's already out in Japan and comes out in Sept. here.

Next year tentative releases are:
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Mario Maker
The Legend of Zelda
Splatoon
Yoshi's Woolly World
Mario Party 10
Devil's Third

Plus add in all the end of the year games and that is a lot to choose from.
Hyrule Warriors
Bayonetta 2
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
NES Remix Pack
Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

I read a rumor started by some publisher PR person (not from Nintendo) that Nintendo has a slate of releasing at least one game a month for all of 2015 between 3DS and Wii U (not including VC) And considering what they've talked about for 2015 so far, I'd be inclined to believe it considering they've already announced 12 Wii U games for 2015.

Not sure bout Zelda and X being ready for 2015, X in particular seems like one of those games that will get pushed back forever.

Smash will always have hype, but I think the anticipation for Brawl was much larger.

What is NES Remix pack?

I don't think X will be pushed back since there was a a nice chunk of it playable at E3.

I think that the Wii U Smash Bros. has intense hype. Going to the demo at Best Buy and seeing the store packed to play it and having to wait 3+ hours to play it when we got there a half hour before the event started says a LOT.

NES Remix pack is just NES Remix 1 & 2 in a physical copy.

I think X will make the year, but maybe not the first given date as games that huge have kinks in development. Now NES Remix1+2 maybe a physical copy, but that's the thing, it's a real game, not a digital rentail. People should always buy these in mass to explain it to thick headed cheapskates that not everyone wants vapor.

Is there much of a real reason to even buy Smash on WiiU over the 3DS other than the HD visuals? The more and more that comes out ont he 3DS, latest being that Kid Icarus imported risk vs reward difficulty slider just makes is so so appealing and at 2/3 of the price.

The Smash information laid out in the directs have shown off a significant amount of how the games differ.

I believe the goal is Smash on Wii U is the main game and 3DS is being made to have parity in terms of fighters, but stages are unique and so are game modes.

Holy crap I did not know about this until I saw this thread. Add another game to the wishlist!

I love the Wii U but I haven't really been buying anything yet. Seems like virtually everything worth playing is first-party Nintendo and that shiz never seems to go down in price.

I know. Most of their games are annoyingly price-persistent Thats usually why I ask for those for Birthday/Christmas.

Unless it's Mario Kart 8. I didn't feel like waiting 6+ months for that one.
