and it was dethroned by that horrible excuse for a game (actually I lie its fun but ITS NOT SUPER MARIO BROS, also I dont think it should count considering it was bundled w/ the system, but so was Mario Bros. ...)claudio wrote:yeah! i feel old now, first a black president and now mario isnt king of the hill anymore.

Why does this make news. It may have sold more, but it will never replace smb in peoples memories or hearts.

I'm with you on that Ryan. Just like I think that Wii Play's astronomical sales figures shouldn't really be counted against other real games because no one buys it for the game disc.
Also, it seems like everyone I know has gotten a Wii over the holidays. Having to hear my co-workers rave about how Carnival Games KICKS ASS is pretty lame. Of course, they are the kind of people who buy Nickelback albums, so I guess their taste speaks for itself. Still, it saddens me to know that they are missing out on the few good games out there because they're more likely to purchase the new Spiderman game.
So what's the biggest selling non-bundled game of all time, anyway? Super Mario 3?

Re: WTF? Super Mario dethroned!
Last I heard it was Super Mario 3 as best selling non-bundled. If Wii Play is disqualified by being bundled with a Wiimote then I'd suspect it's maintaining that record. On the other hand, WoW has 13 mil subscribers, which means that it's got a ton of sales as well.
