Cards Against Humanity
Anyone ever play it?
Anyone like it?
What cards do you own?
I like this game a lot. It can get so filthy but lucky for me I have friends who don't easily get offended. I've got the main set and first two expansions as my main play set. Then I have two full sets with the four expansions and the four "booster" packs put away as part of my collection of fun stuff.

It is just dirty Apples to Apples, and we dont play Apples to Apples. Boardgame time at my house has been really truncated recently, so Pitchcar is our game of choice. But when we have parties people always bring a copy of CAH, I just care to not own one.

Love the game. Haven't done any custom cards yet and don't yet have any expansions. Two friends have purchased this game since playing with me.

Played it, enjoyed it, have it, need expansions because the questions and answers are starting to get old.

The expansions run at $10 a piece. I'd jump on that. Also you can also make your own with the blank ones.
This game is hit or miss. I have a couple of friends that did play when it was very big a couple of years back and a large portion of references when over their heads. They weren't bothered by the filthy stuff but those pop culture references didn't hit while the other half of the party were having a riot.

I've just been looking this up and it looks like a fun party game...however my only concern is that one of the reviews on amazon states it is "racially offensive".
Can anyone illuminate on this as it's the only thing putting me off right now.
Also, I see there is a UK edition "specially adapted for your outmoded culture". Is this likely to contain a lot of stuff that would go over the heads of American players, as I'd probably be playing with Americans.

You can see some examples flipping past on the site to get an idea. You can also download the game to print it yourself for free, so you could look through it that way as well. http://cardsagainsthumanity.com/
The game itself gives you question and answer cards. The question is asked and you pick which card out of your hand is the funniest. The cards all by themselves are mostly individually fine but suggestive, though there are plenty with adult themes and phrases. It's the combinations that make the schadenfreude most of the time. Most of the 'badness' comes from the players minds. That said, as the name suggests, it is a game for people with dark senses of humor and is best played with people who can appreciate that, but aren't actually jerks or sociopaths.
A good example for some of the worst combinations would be whether you think 'dead baby' jokes can be funny if told in a non mean-spirited way by the people you'll play the game with that won't make you excuse yourself to the bathroom where you can secretly call the police. Though I suppose you could just download it yourself and simply not include some of the cards that could be used badly.

I agree it definitely isn't for everyone. I am a fan that they do give you the chance to download the main set to get an idea of how bad it can get.
The expansions add more things obviously but clearly can get filthy quickly. Let me out it this way: if anyone buys the first and second expansion, open them in the order. The very first card is an answer card in each set that pretty much sets the tone.

Re: Cards Against Humanity
I find that this game, like all games, is as fun as the people who play it. My wife and I play it with my brother and his wife and we have a blast. Every time I feel like it is going to get stale, but it never does.
Trust me though, there are some truly disgusting cards and combinations, so it isn't for the feint of heart. We tested out the game with some other people once and their style of play was to play the most fitting answer, but not the most sadistic or funny....that wasn't as fun.

Re: Cards Against Humanity
I have the original set (with the Glenn Beck cards, which I see have been replaced in later reprints -- confused the living hell out of me when I played with someone and I was like "What are these cards that I don't have in my set?!?"), and at least 3 expansions, possibly all 4 standard ones, I honestly can't remember. Also have the Bigger Blacker Box and have retrieved the hidden card from it.
Haven't bought any of the limited-run sets (holiday set, PAX sets, etc) because I don't love it that much that I have to spend scads of money on a few cards on ebay (especially with the PAX cards being described as "2/3rds basically unplayable, 'hehehe I was at PAX' cards" by people I know who have it)
Definitely depends on the group you play it with, but I always enjoy it to some degree, either with my normal board gaming group or when I bring it in to work (I'm actually debating buying a second main set because it seems whether I have it at home or at work, people at the OTHER place are always asking for it)

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
