Baha. I read your blog and saw this line: "I won't say what it is yet, but let's just say it's marvelous indeed." I should have known. How is the language barrier?

Also, I bookmarked your blog. The post on having time for gaming as an adult was really informative and interesting.
Yes! Your latest post speaks volumes to me. I was just having a conversation with my wife the other night in regards to fatigue and gaming. It's too hard!

The fan translation makes the game completely playable... to an extent. All dialogue is translated, but any Japanese imagery containing kanji / hiragana / katakana remains unmodified. This means there are moments in the game where you don't know what you're looking at. Despite that I've managed to suss things out so far, so I imagine most anyone else could too. When I finish the game I'll do a review on my blog and go into more detail about all of it.

The game is awesome though, and has aged remarkably well.

Going to play some dkc, but it looks like I'm going to have to make sure i have the rechargable pak I have from my days as a kid is starting to waver between red and green so it's like "oh crap my battery is almost dead where's the freaking charger?" and then I remember I left it at my moms .... *sigh*

Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition

I absolutely HATE that stupid new Canal area they added. Ugh, why can't designers leave well enough alone? Guacamelee was good enough as it was, but they just had to keep adding more and more content to it until they finally went overboard

Those obnoxious fish and that cluster fuck boat ride.

When are people gonna realize less is more?

Probably when gamers stop buying re-re-releases that continuously pile more stuff on top of the original core game.

I've made it to the Great Palace in Zelda 2... finally, after all these years, I've made it. Now to get through this monster...

Valley of Death, the trek there... that's a very fitting name. It reminded me of the end of FFIII (NES), there were like two dungeons you had to run through to even get to the final dungeon. Insane stuff.

It's ironic that the last time I played Zelda 2, years ago when I got the farthest I had ever been before... I got stuck near the end because I could never find the "Hidden Palace". Low a behold... all you had to do was use that flute. Was there some NPC somewhere that gave out this clue? Felt like a slap to the face. But no wonder I never found it.

I prefer playing the rom of it for the super famicon. It's extra hard on GBA due the resolution.

I love the game though, it's probably my favorite Megaman, but yeah, it is difficult.
