For anyone within 1,000 miles it's a super easy drive, can be done in a day (you can do 82 on the interstate in SD and still get cars flying by you - it's a very loose 75mph limit, but most cars are doing 85-90 - it's flat, straight, fully divided from the other directional traffic, and the traffic is light). On top of being a fast drive - you can spend zero dollars - many of the attractions are completely free, or just the cost of parking.
