After my latest ordeal trying to replace my broken MVS Windjammers, all I can say is grab it if you can still find it for a reasonable price. It's more sought after than I ever imagined... and it sure ain't gonna go back down either.

That was my attitude 5 years ago and I can only think of a handful of games/systems that are cheaper now. Right now's the time to get the PS3/360/Wii games you're interested in.

Even the availability of Multicarts, Everdrives, PSN/Live releases, emulation, etc hasn't affected prices that much if at all.

I was looking at your collection and noticed you have a game called "Picture Puzzle". That's another one that I forgot about and will now have to keep an eye out for.

In other news I have acquired a boxed and complete EU Faselei today to go with my American cart. :D I bought it for a fine price. No really, I got a good deal. Just got to wait for it to arrive now. Reading up on it though it seems it's compatible with the link cable so might keep that extra cart after all.
Picture Puzzle is a fun little Picross knock off that I managed to find for cheap when I got my NGPC. If you find it for cheap, I would say get it! There are a few puzzles that I found a little obnoxious, but overall I enjoyed it.

And yeah, very jealous of the Faselei. Heck, I would be happy just to get games like Last Blade and Crush Roller for cheap.

Apparently Faselei is very short. It can be beaten in eight hours if what I've read is correct!
The meat is meant to be in the multiplayer...HAHA! What a cursed game. Imagine trying to find someone else who has it!

In the US, it can be done! It'll just take some coordination on here and a plane ticket to wherever the other Racketeer is. But in China...it's probably gonna be a bit tougher. Sorry man!

Faselei arrived today and my boxed and complete collection is quietly growing alongside my pile of carts:

Image

I was interested to see that this one is backwardly compatible with the original NGP and that it doesn't stick to the format of the regular NGPC spine design (it's grey instead of white and the top section is reversed).

Image

Also interested in the little numbers that are on each game, e.g. NEOP0090. What exactly does this refer to? Is it release date? If so, why do they go so high when there aren't this many EU releases available?

Upgraded Crush Roller to a boxed and complete version. Now I have a spare cart for the mythical 2 player experience.

Did get another crossring with it which is handy. Now I have 3 of those.

Another two games should be arriving in the post over the next few days. One of them is a cheapo shovelware title...but the other one is a little more special.

Let the guessing commence.

Got some mail today with these in it.

A cart only UK Picture Puzzle which has been eluding me for some time and a boxed UK The Last Blade.

Unfortunately I was a little disappointed to find it was only boxed as it is missing the instruction manual (if not the other paraphernalia). I'm normally careful about checking this but going back to the store's website it does seem to say "no instructions"...although I'm not 100% sure it did when I placed the order and I wonder if this didn't appear retroactively. :|

I paid £39.99 for Last Blade. Hopefully still good value minus the instructions? Maybe I can pick up a manual online at some later point as these things sometimes show up on ebay.

I ordered a boxed and complete copy of NEO Dragon's Wild from the same store for £4.99 but for some reason that game has yet to arrive. (Edit - the shop refunded me saying first that it was out of stock and secondly that the cartridge didn't work when they tried it - oh well).

Spines are looking nice lined up now:

Image

It looks like they changed the design of the later games as Faselei! and Last Blade both switch up the spine design a little. I'm still interested to know what the numbers mean.

Well as i'm soon heading back abroad these will probably be the last additions I add to my NGPC collection for a while. Thankfully they all arrived today in the post before I have to depart.

Image

I found a boxed PAL version of Dive Alert: Matt's Version on Amazon for £19.99. Unfortunately, as with the recent copy of Last Blade I bought it is missing it's instruction manual, but at least this time the seller advertised it as such and didn't (not very) sneakily amend their website description post sale!

I do wonder why so many NGPC owners were careless with their manuals when the games always seem to include those useless Japanese only safety instructions! Anyway I'm pleased with this deal. Maybe I can source a manual on ebay.
I played a little bit of the game. Combat seems slow (if realistic) but the story seems very well done and intricate (with none of the usual hilarious mistranslation of NGPC games). I can see why the more common imported Japanese version got low scores though as there is a boatload (no pun intended) of text. I'd recommend only getting the English version.

Delta Warp I got for £17.99 from ebay. It's my first full import purchase and it came new and sealed. It does annoy me a little that the Japanese boxes are cheap cardboard and are designed in such a way that they can't be opened without permanently creasing the lid! Much prefer the tasty European style snap cases. The great thing about this game though is that it is entirely in English. It's a sci-fi themed tile flipping puzzle game with an level creation mode, which is a nice bonus. Why is it entirely in English? Absolutely no idea...even the plot is outlined in english on the cover!

Last but not least I finally got hold of the ridiculously hard to come by official transfer link up cable. This should be terrifically useful as nearly every NGPC title uses it and due to my bundle buying I now own multiple systems and duplicate carts of a good number of my games. I don't know if I'll ever get anyone to play 2 player with me but the data transfer should be really useful for Cardfighters and many games have unlockables that can only be unlocked by link-up play (All the special clubs in Neo Turf Masters).

I had to pay £39.99 for the cable...which seems extortionate but it seems these things are just hard to get a hold of for some reason. I'm looking forward to experimenting with it though and seeing what type of secrets it unlocks.

I've now assembled an almost complete UK collection barring the casino series and a handful of rare titles. I'm thinking about maybe making a small blog to explore them in more detail. Would anyone be interested in reading such a thing?

Oh and I finally got the last square to unlock Akari in Match of the Millenium today. Overall a good NEO GEO Day. :)

Keep the posts coming, betagam. I'm no longer doing anything myself w/NGPC, but I enjoy your posts.
