Don't give the guy a chore by having him take pictures, or worse, open the case. That will solve nothing and will make you seem like a defensive, know it all ass hole.
Have him pay shipping, give him a refund on re-delivery, ask him for positive feedback for you being trustworthy and reliable.

this. you'll get your paypal fees back and you'll be out no money. troubleshoot the cart further if you want and re-sell it, or sell it to someone here who wants to fix it then sell it/keep it.Luke wrote:Don't give the guy a chore by having him take pictures, or worse, open the case. Now there's something I'd like to see, of course I have to reupdate mine once i finish cleaning up the gaming side of my room...prfsnl_gmr wrote:I had the opportunity to take some pictures of my collection this weekend, and I hope to get some pictures posted to the site later this week. I photographed my 3DS, 5200, 7800, ARC2001, DC, INTV, NDS, NGC, PS1, PSP, SATURN, SCD, and SMS collections this weekend, and I hope to photograph my N64 and PS3 collections tonight. That will leave only a few mid-sized collections (GB, GBA, GEN, WII, XBOX) to photograph before embarking on a survey of my very largest collections (2600, NES, PS2, SNES). If all goes well, I hope to heve everything posted before the end of the month.

In my opinion, if you get the cart back and they guy was being honest you should refund his return shipping fee as well. This goes a long way toward customer satisfaction, and it is a small price to pay for keeping a good seller feedback. Besides, it is like $3 or something. Just tell him upfront that if you receive the cart back with the problems he described you will reimburse the postage price on the package. Sometimes as the seller you have to just bite the bullet and eat a few bucks to keep people happy. If the cart came back and he was lying I would make him responsible for the return costs.aaron wrote:this. you'll get your paypal fees back and you'll be out no money. troubleshoot the cart further if you want and re-sell it, or sell it to someone here who wants to fix it then sell it/keep it.Luke wrote:Don't give the guy a chore by having him take pictures, or worse, open the case. so...at what point is a dying (?) battery not a reasonable reason for a return? 25 years? 30?
My listings do say "no returns accepted" b/c I'm not keen on mucking around with stuff like this. Sounds like the cart boots and works for the most part...worked fine for me...it should fit under the "acceptable" category I think.
I get that the cart might be less than what he'd hoped (if he's being truthful) but I also feel I reasonably/truthfully represented the condition.

It's acceptable at the point it's listed in the description of the item when people are bidding on it.

i mean, it's up to you and really depends on how much you're wanting to protect your ebay feedback. he will definitely file a claim and you will definitely lose it.dsheinem wrote:so...at what point is a dying (?) battery not a reasonable reason for a return? 25 years? 30?

Glad that all is well at the prof gamer's house.
Dishalicious, refund the dude as soon as you get the game back. Sounds like he really has an appreciation for the game, and he certainly isn't being an assclown about it. A minor inconvenience, and no harm no foul. The worst that could happen is that buyer says you are awesome at customer service.
Smile: Went clothes shopping this afternoon with some buddies and made a joke that killed.
Frown: Can't remember the joke. Neither can my friends. It's like a dream you know was great but can't recall.
Smile: I did however buy a sweet button up shirt.
Frown: What was that joke? It will keep me up at night.

Makes me grin too, both my daughter and son look like me. I tease them that they will become me in thirty years.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Not gonna lie - I really like the fact that my daughter looks like a miniature girly version of me.
Agree, I think anyone buying a used cart game should not hold an issue on the twenty year old save battery. A chance one takes on an older game, should know how to replace a battery. As a seller I would not even mention if the battery works or not or as you did NO REFUNDS. That battery could be dead on arrival.dsheinem wrote:so...at what point is a dying (?) battery not a reasonable reason for a return? 25 years? 30?
