Honestly the ds zeldas are one of those titles that it feels like it's best to play maybe 30 minutes then call it a day otherwise it does feel that way...I still find them fun though when I do attempt to play them.AmishSamurai wrote:Phantom Hourglass had a lot of design flaws, especially in regards to the Temple. Spirit Tracks fixed a lot of those, but I still can't bring myself to continue past the Pacman sequence.Flake wrote:Smile: I still get a kick whenever an article I helped write gets posted to the front page. Frown: Think I'm going to bail on Star Fox Command the way I did on Phantom Hourglass the other day. That's two in a row where I had fun for a little bit and then said "this is becoming a chore".

Sure you can bond with them, but it wouldn't be the same for me. Deep down I would know they aren't biologically mine. That isn't to say you can't love or care for a child adopted, but it just isn't quite the same.pepharytheworm wrote:Not to criticise. Another very personal choice. I think it is kind of arbitrary to think that way unless you have experience with it. I also think it might depend largely on the age at which the child is adopted. It is pretty hard to spend significant time with any baby and not form a connection in my experience. Everyone is different though.Jmustang1968 wrote:Sure you can bond with them, but it wouldn't be the same for me. Deep down I would know they aren't biologically mine. ...but seriously, I don't find genetic similarities very compelling.

I don't see what the big deal about a "child of your loins" is. Barring some sort of crappy genetic disease the big thing humans pass on to the next generation is our thoughts and ideas; that works just as well for adopted kids.

Physical traits and temperaments. Seems it makes no difference to some, and it does to others.MrPopo wrote:I don't see what the big deal about a "child of your loins" is. Not gonna lie - I really like the fact that my daughter looks like a miniature girly version of me.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I'm not implying I don't see some benefit in being able to be a biological parent. The pregnancy and birth and all that goes along with it can be very special as well. However, I doubt that if I fathered one of my children and adopted the other at birth there would be a significant difference in my love between them. Children are very much a product of their environment and while the little touches like physical traits are nice, in my opinion, they are superficial. I'm not passing judgment, only saying that if it is someone's only viable option I think they could get just as much joy from raising an adopted child. I'm not looking for a big debate or anything. It's just my opinion.Jmustang1968 wrote:Physical traits and temperaments.
