As for the rest, my exit has a Kroger and a Food Lion, I wish we had a Trader Joes or Fresh Market or Publix or hell an A&P. Nothing against Kroger, but it is ALWAYS packed.
Weird. Must be a regional thing.

And Hobie, my wife who teaches, and my buddy Seth who is an assistant principal both say "no" on the book covers.

It really looks like tony stewart went out of his way to hit that driver. He seems to swerve into him on purpose.

And he's racing today, not spending time with the family of the deceased.

The car swerved, but it's hard for me to tell if he had already hit the guy or not before it happened. In my opinion it does look pretty bad. He also accelerated.

He decided he's not racing today a short time ago.

Agreed. I'm not accusing the guy, but from the footage it looked intentional. Given his reputation I wouldn't be surprised but I won't call the guy a murderer until an investigation is held.

One thing that would clear a lot of this up would be to know if this happened after a caution flag. If tony kept pace or accelerated (this obviously happened after a lap) during a caution, then there is a lot to investigate as he knows the rules.

That in mind, standing in a track during a race is dumb. Other drivers obviously took caution and went around the driver who was on the track, but nothing of good can come from standing in a racing track.

Tragic.

I don't want to watch the video again, but it certainly seemed tony wanted to send a message. Not kill the kid, but to spook him. His job is driving for crying out loud. He avoids pile ups left and right but seems to swerve right into the kid. Sad stuff.

You need to watch it again. For that matter anyone questioning whether it was intentional, or outright calling him a murderer, needs to watch it again.

His car is straight, completely straight, until the split second contact is made, then it jolts. Anyone who has hit a deer or anything similar will tell you your car will jolt toward the direction of the hit object.

What?

"Anyone who has hit a deer or anything similar will tell you your car will jolt toward the direction of the hit object if the object."

If the object what?

No. Everyone I know who has hit a deer. (who isn't a person standing still but an animal in motion btw), has never told me their car "jolted" towards the animal. As crazy as it sounds, they steer AWAY from the animal.

Just weeks ago a buddy and I were driving after leaving a get together when all of a sudden a deer jumped in front of us. He did not "jolt" into the deer. Rather he swung away from it.

And the Caution Flag? Why watch someone losing their life before reviewing the facts?

Are you being serious right now?

Obviously if you have time or see the object you steer away. ONCE you hit the object the car jolts in that direction.

He's coming around a turn, straightening out, makes contact, jolts, and corrects it. Nothing in that video looks out of line with physics.

It's terribly sad, but now Tony Stewart is being called a murderer across the web and on news by people who apparently have no knowledge of racing or physics. Sad as it may be, there was someone who didn't do what they're supposed to do on the track and it wasn't Tony Stewart.

It still looks bad to me. I can't make sense of it though...I mean the implications to Stewart's life and career for doing something like that publicly just isn't justified by the kid being mad and waving a finger. Not that violent crimes ever make much sense but the motive here doesn't seem strong enough. Negligence could be a possibility, but even that is hard to prove with the kid walking out into the middle of the track.

All of that said, if I hit someone (during a race or not) I would stop and check on them. I didn't see a long enough version to tell if that is what happened. If he kept racing that is bullshit.
