Show me a bunch of screenshots and I couldn't tell you which games they came from. That said, I think I recall liking 2 the best, though I hate the final few levels (Sonic games should never have giant holes... or water for that matter).

The NGPC game is pretty cool, but that's a different thing altogether.
Agreed. Especially with Metropolis Zone having 3 levels, I've always kind of wished that was the end... or rather, Death Egg was made up of actual levels. The two flying levels up to it are pretty annoying.

Sky Palace on the other hand in S&K is incredible I thought, along with amazing music. Then we finally get kickass Death Egg levels, again with amazing music. The true ending is always cool to get too. S&K has a much stronger finish, probably my favorite out of them all. Sonic 1 is good too though. Sonic 2 wears thin, has some annoying final levels, and I hate the final fight with no rings. Then while I love Sonic CD's last stages, the final boss is one of the biggest jokes out there. So underwhelming lol.

5. Capcom Vs. SNK 2 (DC)
6. Sonic The Hedgehog Pocket Adventure (NGPC)
7. Bust-A-Move Pocket (NGPC)
8. Super Puzzle Figher IIX (DC)
9. Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge (DC)
10. Puyo Puyo Fever (DC)
11. Phantasy Star Online (DC)
12. Among The Sleep (PC)
13. Titanfall (PC)
14. Wolfenstein: The New Order (PC)

16. Dragon's Lair (PC)
17. Escape Goat 2 (PC)
18. Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara (PC)
19. XCOM: Enemy Within (PC)

So I finally beat the expansion of one of my favorite games of the last few years. Between this and the base game, Steam says I've got 160 hours. That doesn't count the 22 hrs I had on the 360 version of EU. So to say it's a game I've played a lot is a slight understatement. I loved every moment. And hopefully I can put it to rest for a while. Unless I start the Long War mod. Or unless someone mentions the game again, because generally that's all it takes for me to get the urge to start a new campaign.

It's the video game equivalent of drunken master training. Once you're done you'll be able to take down anything.

Ristar was the 7th game beaten on my Summer Games Challenge list for the year, and my thoughts were posted there. I'll paste them below too:
Spent the afternoon playing Ristar today. It turns out that I wasn't very far from the end when I played through years ago - I was on the last world. Apparently the game only has 6 worlds, not 8 as I thought, and the map screen seemed to suggest.

I actually enjoyed the game a lot more than I have previously on this run through. The grabbing mechanics seemed much more reponsive then I remember, and the music and graphics were pretty damn good.

The game has some weak points - particularly the weird difficulty spikes around the stage 3 boss (the mole) and the stage 4 boss (the bird) considering how easy the bosses after them were (with the exception of the final boss who was nicely challenging without feeling cheap). I probably burned twice as many lives on these two bosses as I did on the rest of the game up to the final boss. The first level of stage 6 felt pretty unfair too, and stood out as the only stage that felt too tough.

However, some of the level designs were a lot of fun, the swimming sections managed to fall on the positive side of the usual hit or miss mechanic and it varied the level mechanics frequently enough to be interesting. It's no match for Sonic the Hedgehog, but I'm glad to have given Ristar another shot.
Metal Gear Solid 2 was game number 8 on the list, and again, here are my thoughts copied from that thread:
At first when I was playing MGS2, I was a bit worried. The stealth seemed a lot more developed than the first, and I generally took a more gung ho approach there, as I both suck at stealth and find it a bit dull.

After some teething troubles though, I quickly got the hang of it and had a ton of fun running around the tanker and the big shell. I liked that the game had so many ways to get past guards, but found it a bit easy to forget about stuff like shooting steam pipes, using 'magazines' to distract them, and in fact, using any gun other than the silenced pistol and tranquilizer pistol.

Story wise, the game is over the top and silly, as usual, but even moreso than ever. A lot of things are left unexplained which I assume are addressed in 3 or 4, but we'll wait and see. Raiden seems to get a lot of hate, but honestly I don't get why. He seems a bit of a doofus early on, but he quickly becomes more complex as a character, and he's a nice juxtaposition against the almighty solid snake as someone not quite so infallable.

The ending of the game was the only thing story wise that kinda bothered me. The premise of the patriots and controlling the government is a big step up in terms of stakes from the previous games, but I could go along with it. The extent of control the patriots had just seemed kinda silly to me though, and made it all seem like it was trying a bit too hard.

Overall, I liked the game quite a bit. The Metal Gear series repeatedly shows that despite appearances it's the type of thing I can get into and enjoy. I look forward to seeing how MGS3 goes in future, as what I've played of that so far has been rather frustrating due to my terrible stealth skills.

Muramasa Rebirth
I've previously played through Muramasa on the Wii, but seeing as there was a decent offer on PSN for this update a while back I thought I'd pick it up. The game is a ton of fun in short bursts, with fast paced action, a great soundtrack and wonderful graphics. It does however get very repetitive, partly due to your limited movepool, partly due to the simplicty of the gameplay and partly due to the lack of enemy variety.

Despite this, I got 2 ending as each of Momohime and Kisuke, and found Momohime's story to be far better paced - some of Kisuke's middle chapters were 3 times longer than other chapters in the game for no real reason.

There's one more ending for each character, but unfortunately it takes quite a lot of grinding and I've had enough of the game for now. Maybe one day I'll finish it completely.

Hmm... bad news is, MGS3 might be far tougher for you heh. The time limit when guards find you is a solid 3 minutes or something like that and the game does away with the radar that MG-MGS2 had. You still get some devices to use, but nothing nearly as elaborate as the original radar. Some of them even have realistic penalties, draining your battery, or setting off a noise when you activate one. The outdoor environments make it a bit tougher to navigate too.

Luckily MGS has those awesome difficulty settings that go a long way here, so just bump it down if it's too much. I'm not always the most patient guy in games, and MGS3 definitely demands that more than the first two.

Just a warning, lol.

MGS4 is a different kind of beast altogether with really broken up parts. There's a city segment that does require stealth, but it's really cool how it's handled. Otherwise, this one is a bit more like the first two and easier to just run and gun if you want.

You really don't have to be good at stealth for MGS3 though. The first time I played through the game, I kinda just Rambo'ed my way through it. I liked the game so much though that after beating it I immediately played through it again, but took a stealth approach for the entire game. It was easier to play it stealthy the second time through since I already knew the game and it was fresh in my head, was better at the controls, and certain items you get to start with when playing the game over again.

MGS3 spoiler:
 You know that ghost river part? The first time I played through the game that part took forever because I was just killing everyone. There were so many ghosts coming down that river. The second time I played through it, the river sequence was a lot shorter. There were only the bosses and that one guy that I killed accidentally.
@ alienjesus: What version of MGS3 are you playing? The original version on the PS2 had that locked camera, and I couldn't imagine ever playing that game like that. The Subsistence version had the free roaming camera, as well as all other later releases of the game AFAIK.

This all reminds me that I still haven't touched MGS4.... along with several other PS3 games.
