hi RB members , im thinking of getting a 27" Monitor shipped instead of going down my local store to buy one.
you might think thats lazy but its more a PITA as they will say " oh we dont have that in stock so we will order one in for you "
so yeah i can save some BS and just get it from a store that has them in stock
my question is , is it a bad idea to get this Monitor shipped and go through the postal system as it can cause hardware problems or theres nothing to worry about ?
when i bought my Plasma back in 2008 the salesman wanted to get their delivery service to deliver it and i was like i want to take it home now.
he said where do you live i said in the same suburb , he said it should be ok
and he didnt want the Plasma flat in the back of mums car for some reason............
so yeah im thinking theres something to worry about with getting a Monitor shipped in the post.

The glass screens for Plasme TVs are heavy and putting them flat is not a good idea. You might think you're good, then go over a bump and then it's cracked screen time. LCDs aren't as heavy or fragile I don't think. As long as the screen is insured so if something happens you're not up the creek, it might be fine.

I've received some groundmail. Unless it's huge, it shouldn't be a problem. If it isn't in original packaging (factory styrofoam and all) make sure the sender crams it's box fulll of those bags of air, or it's got bubblewrap evenly distributed all over.

I ordered my 28 (27.5) inch monitor and a 32inch TV from Newegg years ago and both arrived with zero problems.
