ACIII is really really bad.Tanooki wrote:What I have played of Tropical Freeze they looked at the problem with some of the stage design and physics/control of the Wii/3DS game and improved it, but i'll be honest I've only done maybe 15% of the game or so. I really just don't use the WiiU much, mostly just lack of motivation and forget to and not being turned off.
On that note I'm considering scooping up the old Assassins Creed 3 for it just to give the series one last try. I figure if the American Revolution couldn't keep my interest none of it will.
Try 4. 4 is really really good (but not on Wii U, try it on Xbox One or PC or something).

and yeah even people I know who are fans of the series hate 3. Lots of people seem to really like 4 though.

No. I mean don't play it on the Wii U (even though I did). Runs like crap. Had to stop several times because it was headache inducing. Not even bellyaching. It is nothing but choppy.AppleQueso wrote:

Yes it does. That's how I played through it.Xeogred wrote:Does 4 support the Pro?

I've seen people love and hate it, though I can see why if it's slideshow bad on the WiiU seeing that a lot of those ports were done as cheaply and poorly as possible on those launch games. I can deal with framerate issues to a point. I just saw it was a $10 game and I like the time period which is why I brought it up. I'd never own a MS console, they're untrustworthy and my PC can't hack it. I do have a PS3 but it's shortly being demoted to big screen movie/streaming box once I get a PS4 so if I were to do that I'd get it on there.

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Had a, far too brief, play of Mario Kart 8 yesterday and was very impressed.
I was worried that the WiiU gamepad would be a bit cumbersome but it actually felt really good. If it works that well for what I'd consider a more fast paced game then I guess it'll be just as good for Mario 3D World, DKC:TF and others.
As for Assassin's Creed 3 I'll say this: it's the worst game I've played all year, in a year when I've played shit like Duke Nukem Forever and Rogue Warrior. Proceed directly to Assassin's Creed 4 which is great.

What I've bolded, that's pretty much what I said when I first got my U (and held the gamepad for the first time). I said that here, and was told that's pretty much what every one says about it. It looks like it wont be comfortable, might be too heavy, etc etc, but it's actually quite nice.Sload Soap wrote:I was worried that the WiiU gamepad would be a bit cumbersome but it actually felt really good. Any one that owns a U should own the Pro Controller along with it. Some argue that it should have just been bundled with the console. My default controller for Mario Kart 8, 3D World and DKCTF is the Pro Controller. Although I really don't mind using the gamepad for any of them. Which is real nice, because I only wanted to buy one Pro Controller. Now on the rare occasion I have a local multiplayer situation, I can give the other person the Pro Controller and use the pad myself.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Pretty much how I feel. There's a wide range of different types of games on the U and the gamepad passes the tests for me. But in the end I definitely like using the Pro more. It basically being an evolved SNES controller is delightful, I'd just straight up say it's the best Nintendo controller since then. I love it.

Wow Duke Nukem Forever > AC3, that's frightening. I had that turd too being a huge duke fan since the original trilogy of games on PC, then the GBC/GBA stuff too.
Well if I can sell a little more of my junk on ebay mirrored here and on digital press I'll snap up that PS4 and just get AC4 on that. I see no reason to buy a game like that on WiiU given developers don't bother to do their best efforts there as lame cash in ports they think are smarter.
