Yeah, I saw that website. I'm not averse to their pricing for a quality unit but their stock is all marked as sold out or "retired".

I've never done any modding myself. Is there something about the system that makes it very difficult to mod or is there simply a lack of demand? Modded GBC's seem to be everywhere on ebay. It also seems like it's impossible to backlight a NGPC, only front light it.

Again I don't know what the specifics of this are that prevent it. A backlit NGPC system, even a clone would be a dream system for me.
He's an active member on The Cover Project too (goes by the name "wiggy"), so you might be able to get in touch with him there.

I got a "pile" of MVS carts the past couple days, 3 in a group buy, and 4 more from a member of neo forums. Won't have a chance to get at any of them until Saturday - but feels good getting something new in the house. I've been doing a lot of thinning out lately.

I picked up:
League Bowling
KoF 98
KoF 02
Over Top
Art of Fighting Gaiden (AoF 3: Path of the Warrior)
Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer
Mahjong Kyoretsuden

Been playing a lot of Panic Bomber from Mike's last group buy at my buddy's house on his cabinet. Very unique puzzle game -- you have to be in danger of dying yourself (because of all the bombs at the bottom) in order to truly do damage to your enemy. It's a strange mechanic, but I really like it.

Only thing we haven't been able to figure out yet is what triggers the Power Up? (or, for that matter, the Level Up but that matters way less). It's not chaining removals, it's not removals of more than 3... is it just based on score? That seems so laaaaaaaaaame.

^i'm not sure, it's been awhile for me. Hopefully someone else will know.

Money Puzzle Exchanger, Pop 'n Bounce, and Pochi & Nyaa are my go to puzzle games on neo for quite awhile now.

We'll see if Magical Drop can dethrone Panic Bomber soon (since my buddy's out of town this coming week... means I'll just be playing it on my AES thru the Fusion converter, but people don't come to my place regularly)

And then, y'know, whatever's cheap on your next group buy

Dibs on the Twinkle Star Sprites from his next group buy.

My luck with bulk orders has gone down tremendously this year. Last year I was able to get a stack with 2 copies of winjammers, puzzle bobble, gururin, and galaxy fight for $200.

Well I just purchased my third NGPC system as part of an interesting bundle.

I paid £100 for a boxed black NGPC console with 21 games (cart only).

That might seem a lot of cash to shell out however two of the games were Gals Fighters and Faselei two of the more expensive NGPC carts. :D

The following are the games I will be getting. I'll keep the bolded ones and resell the console and the remaining games, possibly as a bundle.

1 - METAL SLUG 1ST MISSION
2 - METAL SLUG 2ND MISSION
3 - PAC MAN
4 - SONIC ADVENTURE
5 - FASELEI
6 - SNK VS CAPCOM CARD FIGHTERS CAPCOM VERSION
7 - SNK VS CAPCOM CARD FIGHTERS SNK VERSION
8 - PUZZLE LINK
9 - PUZZLE LINK 2
10 - DARK ARMS (NA)
11 - DARK ARMS (EU)
12 - NEO GEO CUP 98 PLUS
13 - BASEBALL STARS
14 - NEO TURF MASTERS
15 - POCKET TENNIS COLOR
16 - MATCH OF THE MILLENNIUM (Jap)
17 - KING OF FIGHTERS R2
18 - SAMURAI SHOWDOWN 2
19 - FATAL FURY FIRST CONTACT
20 - SNK GALS FIGHTERS
21 - NEO DERBY CHAMPION

I'm guessing (from looking at completed listings) that by reselling the console and the remaining ten games I don't need I can pull back around half of my investment, which will mean I got eleven new games, including two of the more expensive titles for around £5 each. :P

I've gotten enough PM's from racket members (whom are also on neo) asking what is going on that i'm just going to make one post here.

Short version - a few scams, and a few market flippers (buy AES / MVS low on ebay, flip high on neo) has the community on edge.

In the last deal, half a dozen members were taken for over $1,000 by member "hide" (hide77 on this forum). By all counts he was a good member, and someone I certainly considered a forum friend. It's still unclear what exactly happened as he simply won't say; theories (based on real evidence) include using the money to start up his arcade, used the money to go to EVO, and used the money to help a friend out.

A number of other scammers who had been banned have recently come back under new accounts and luckily most were snuffed out before being able to pull anything.

As of yesterday, a seldom enforced rule regarding the marketplace was put into strict enforcement. Members who appear to be on the site for use of the marketplace only are currently restricted from the marketplace and PM's. They can earn those privileges back by contributing to the site / community.

I have seen a few friends affected and my only advice is if you want to use the marketplace - you need to be active elsewhere on the board. They simply (and rightfully so imo) are not going to allow people to use the forum as a place to copy/paste their sale thread, and/or pull something on their members.

I like what's happening at NG.com and it made me realize I need to post here more.

If the new policy were applied here, I would probably lose market access but I think I've only made 1-2 sales threads so maybe not.

Anyways, I like it here and need to contribute a bit more than I have.
