The Breakfast Thread
Re: The Breakfast Thread
I always find hard boiled eggs to be underwhelming in their basic form. Devil them or chop them up on a salad or sandwich and I'm cool, but otherwise I can take or leave 'em.

Homemade breakfast burritos this morning. Yum.

That is exactly right! My wife and I make a giant batch and freeze them. Sure they aren't nearly as good as fresh burritos, but we can stock pile them and go for over a month on the pennies it costs to make them. So good!J T wrote:Homemade breakfast burritos this morning. Yum.

Re: The Breakfast Thread
Just as long as you spice them properly things go great! Adding things like some spicy hashbrowns to the mix really gives it the kick it needs. If you lack that spice, your burritos tend to end up tasting like freezer, so the right spices work great.....also the type of tortilla is CRUCIAL. You can end up with cardboard if you stick with a whole grain tortilla.Hobie-wan wrote:I keep meaning to do this.BogusMeatFactory wrote: My wife and I make a giant batch and freeze them. After that, make a big batch, sit down for a half hour, watch a show and ROLL ROLL ROLL!

Do you put eggs in those? I don't know why, but I can't imagine those freezing well.
Re: The Breakfast Thread
I don't think those will fit in my desk drawer at work.Luke wrote:Or you could buy a gallon tub of oatmeal for two dollars. If you want to go for gusto go to an agri supply place. Remember Luke, ziggy lives in NYC. A coop or TSC would be quite a drive for him.Ziggy587 wrote:I don't think those will fit in my desk drawer at work.Luke wrote:Or you could buy a gallon tub of oatmeal for two dollars. I assumed he ate breakfast before going to work like most people. Eating during work hours is a big no no in lots of lines of work. And no offense to smokers, but smoke breaks are dumb. I only say that because at a lot of companies, if you don't smoke, you don't get two ten minute smoke breaks. It's being rewarded to smoke.
Making Panela omelets with sliced jalapenos tomorrow. My mouth has fallen in love with that cheese.
