Do you feel bad about buying new(ish) releases used?

I thought so too, but you get kicked out after 5 or 10 min after the other person plays any game in their collection (even if it is not the same game you are playing).

Wow that's a bunch of shit. May as well just be the same thing as running the same account. Is it still in beta or is it the final product now? Because that is pretty much bait and switch.

I wouldn't say it's bait and switch, it's pretty much worked that way since they announced it and they say so explicitly. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_art ... -QLBM-5731

To be honest remember that Steam needed not have introduced this feature at all. Probably the excessive (IMO) limitation is to reduce the potential for abuse in having an account shared for multiple people and everyone playing a different game.
Although I think it would be reasonable to only kick the sharer out if the owner is playing that specific game, and if they wanted to limit multiple sharers beyond the owner, they could have a separate restriction for only a single sharer at any given time (regardless of title).

In terms of comparing with physical copies, it is not quite as owning one that you have finished and lend (and the buddy can play it freely regardless), but on the other hand you can lend out your games to a friend that lives far from you and still have them if you want to play them.

It is not the same as running the same account, as under their terms accounts are not shareable (and this probably matter for them in order to get the game publishers to license the games for Steam distribution), and if an account is caught being shared e.g. in different locations they may lock out your account (and eventually ban it).
