Yeah, sorry Tanooki, gotta disagree with you man. The NES and Genny slots ARE, indeed, too tight. Doesn't make me love the machine any less, and shouldn't scare anyone away from buying one, but if people aren't expecting it or don't know a good technique for removal, you could really mess up the pins.

The real problem I'm having is uncontrollable spending on reacquisition of carts. In less than a month I've now shelled out for:

NES: Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, Punch-Out!!, Castlevania 1-3, Adventure Island, Tecmo Super Bowl, Low G Man, Ninja Gaiden 1-2, Super C, TMNT 1-2 and Zelda.

Not to mention Super Metroid and Mario RPG on SNES and Sonic and Knuckles for Genesis.

It's a disease.

The slot-tightness issues don't seem to be standard across all units. For me the Genesis and NES ones are also too tight while the others are perfectly fine, but I've seen other people who say those ones are fine but the SNES one is too tight.

I think the slot tightness is inconsistent or it's just depending on personal usage including how one pulls them out of the system.

You're right though, once you start buying up old games it's a disease, or at least the Frito Lay or Pokemon part of the brain takes over because 'you can't just have one' because you 'got to catch em all.' :)

It isnt how I pull mine out. It is equally difficult to insert gen games. The Snes slot is just slightly tight, but is removed with ease.

It is. And I've got it too, friend.

Luckily, I've had a rather large backlog of cart-based games that have been neglected, but I can see myself possibly buying more FC and SFC games.

I have like 30 or so SFC games, but I wanna get some of the pricier ones like Undercover Cops, and Ninja Warriors Again. Sadly, I only have 2 Famicom games.

What he said. Its so tight I really don't think putting and removing the cart repeatedly would help.

Well then just put something in there and leave it if you're not playing a game as it'll apply pressure to the grip, also rocking it a bit in there front and back couldn't hurt if you're not all violent with it.
