Lain is like a thousand times more coherent than what Evangelion ultimately turns into.

Evangelion is honestly really straightforward. Like, people joke "hurrdurr 2deep4u!" but like if you actually paid attention to the show beyond "cool robot fights" and "God *character* is so annoying" the last two episodes are pretty straightforward just with really really wonky visuals.

I think of the last episodes (or parts of End of Evangelion) as being more accessible art film. Definitely a change in pace that will throw people off, but otherwise it's not much different from how crazy plenty of anime endings can wind up getting.

I'm almost done with Kill La Kill. Mako is definitely my new favorite character in any anime.

Mako's great, Ryuuko, Satsuki, and Nonon are also amazing characters. So many awesome ladies. And Gamagoori.

I like the first half Eva. After the halfway point I really didn't enjoy the series.. especially with that totally bizarre ending. I do really like the end of Eva though. Definitely not my favorite of anno's. I wish he would direct something like the first gun buster again.
