My Long Overdue Game Room post. Over 3000 games.

Post by loganm187 »

Hey guys! I don't tend to boast or like to post game room pictures online all that much, but I recently got collectors insurance for my collection and need to have proof I have such things so I thought I might as well post this online for my favorite community to check out. I have tons of cart only gameboy and game Gear stuff in plastic drawers I forgot to take pics of and many of my rare games are just on the shelf ( I shot pics in RAW format so you should be able to see most titles on the spine if you zoom) and weird accessories are hidden away in the room or in boxes elsewhere.

I'd say 90 percent of this I acquired before 2011 and almost all through craigslist or yard sales before the retro gaming boom hit hard and prices went insane. I have only went to ebay for a few select items and my lovely Import saturn games...how I love my Saturn :) I collect anything that looks interesting and always play through the weird ass games...that's the fun part of all this if you ask me. If any of you guys want a list of everything I have I can link you to my RFgeneration collection list I have spent the past month putting together for my insurance in case it all burnt up!!!! Enjoy guys. Link to Photos below.

Wow, incredible collection!

I like your NES and SNES games. Is it the original boxes in clam-shell cases, or a custom job?

Couple of questions: what do you sit on when you play, and are those shelves firmly attached to the wall?

- They are so heavy they are not going anywhere. I built them years ago and never had any problems.

- I actually just moved into a new place and just got my new room set up. I need a futon. I have been sitting in my computer chair playing REZ lately though in there.

MADNESSSSSSS!!!!!!

I should just get a shelf of only various versions of "DOOM" What do you think? I'm sure some one does out there.

Imma be that guy for a minute.

It's too much - its overwhelming. I couldn't personally enjoy it - when you need a ladder to reach some of your stuff - it's too much. 3,000 games is too much. If you beat a game a day, every single day - it would take over 8 years and this is if you acquire nothing else.

The PSX/PS2 titles stacked on end, and then other piles laid flat on top makes me want to get in your room and move them.

*takes off critical pants*

I have grown fond of UGC's, particularly when they match, and your SNES stuff looks nice.

Boxed systems, if not practical, display much nicer than loose systems and piles of cords.

Getting insurance is good and glad you did that - i'd be curious to know how your policy is written, total coverage, how often you have to provide written or photograph evidence of the collection, if specific titles have to be mentioned, if you have individual values for games assigned with your insurer, how much your deductible is, etc

A few of us have either done this or discussed this and i'm curious how universal this type of insurance is.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Well the shelves are only 6 feet tall, and I'm 6'2 so no ladder involved ;). I hate having some games stacked vertically, but they are not high enough ( 4 or so tacked on top) to cause any damage though.

I actually agree it's too much shit and If I was someone paying a fortune for it all I would be insane ( Sorry for you guys out there, opinion) But because of re-selling extras i'd get in lots from people I really haven't paid anything for this in a round about kinds way, but yea, It's too much shit...I will honestly go months without playing any of it sometimes, but then i'll get hooked on some game for 2 weeks and when i have friends over it's awesome to have access to a vast selection of anything they ever heard of. I feel sorry for people trying to have this type of collection today. I just VERY casually collected for ten years to get this. I was a very poor child with about 6 games for nes and snes, so maybe this is a product of that....lol

- As for insurance I got "Collectors insurance" after research it seemed to be the only way to not get shafted and they do not require any write ups on items or pictures unless the item is worth over $1,000, BUT if something does happen you need pics and a list of what you had to make a claim obviously. I will just link you to that thread - http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 44&t=46631
