To be fair to Luke, he lives in the world of marketing and sales while wearing a suit. Only a working class hero like Billy Mays can sell to you while wearing a beard. I imagine Luke's life to be more like Mad Men.mjmjr25 wrote:The most recent installment of; Stuff i'm making up on the spot:

*sigh*
Plastic car sent from Europe. Wrapped in a sort of tube of thin corrugated cardboard and then put in a paper envelope. Crack up the left side and in the roof. Should have been in a damn box. With the postage increases, returning it would probably cost more than I paid in the first place.

Lancia Stratos. An odd friction powered one with no manufacturer information on it that's probably 30ish years old. Never seen this particular one before (I'm fond of the Stratos) but now it is a bit broken. I can probably patch it up, but it was needlessly broken because of poor packaging.flex wood wrote:Was it a Fiat?

In a way, it's pretty fitting. Lancia's aren't know for their durability.Hobie-wan wrote:Lancia Stratos. In another more important way, it sucks.

Thank you, and certainly.MrPopo wrote: To be fair to Luke, he lives in the world of marketing and sales while wearing a suit.
"Making stuff up on the spot" could not be sillier and further from the truth.
Corporate companies have interview sheets that include ksao's, jasr, as wealth of other traditional methods of finding intelligent people. Appearance is a main factor. How one displays oneself is key in sales and marketing. And in life. The phrase "Dress for the job you want, not the job you have" has existed for hundreds of years for a reason. I'm not a fan of mediocrity and will always strive to press the envelope to aggressively pursue success.
Love what I do, love who I am. (And although it doesn't matter, I love wearing suits too!)
You claim to be a Christian, but you don't come across as one. Very judgmental you are. If I were you I would take the time to re-read Exodus, especially 14:14.
"You need to only to Stand still".

You've broken the unintentional comedy scale.Luke wrote: "Making stuff up on the spot" could not be sillier and further from the truth.

You speak as if you are the only person who "...aggressively pursues success." Whom is, "...not a fan of mediocrity."
Luke - you are a pompous windbag and i'll speak frankly, and publicly, because honestly, I think you need it.
In one breath you give advice to be happy in your job and in the next spam how miserable you are in your job.
In one breath you make a deal about "digital privacy" and that you take caution to not show your face on the internet...followed by multiple face shots, in public, at events, and half naked in your bathroom.
You admonish your boss for tape recording you only to tape record her.
You state, "Corporate companies have interview sheets...". I work at a corporation - we don't have the things you mention and while hygiene is taken into consideration, general appearance is not, nor is facial hair. You like to give advice - here's some: Use the words "often", "sometimes", or "on occasion" before you post your thoughts. The world is not your corner of North Carolina.
Your esteem is so low you feel the need to tell the internet every time you smoosh your wife.
This isn't judgement - this is a badly needed reality check. The biblical term my friend, is counsel.

I'm going back to Tennessee tonight, this area (NKY/Cincinnati) was a bust and the Craigslist is nothing but resellers wanting way over eBay prices. The local game stores were crap. The flea market blew, only thing video game related I found was a Dreamcast controller there.
