You guys got me curious so I did a forum search.

Looks like there HAS actually been a few GOG/Steam covers made... I'd link them, but all the hosting services are blocked here at work so I can't tell if they're dead links or not.

But yeah. Apparently if you like shelf candy, you like shelf candy. No matter what  I'd probably do it, but I really don't play PC games. Hell I can barely remember the last time I turned my PC on, everything's either phone or Chromebook for me these days.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

I think, at that point, I'd rather just look for merchandise related to the game instead.

I've been playing Singularity and it got me thinking:

1: I wonder how many video game Russians I've killed over the last five years?

2: I wonder how many times I've had a helicopter ride shot down or crash for some reason?

3: Has every graphic artist since 2004 taken the same seminar on colour theory? So much blue and orange.

I'm finally done with Final Fantasy IX, and I can't believe it took this long! It was the first FF game I ever played (unless you count Kingdom Hearts), and I have beaten many FF games in the meantime since the first time I started it up. Through various calamities involving corrupt memory cards and scratched discs, I wasn't able to complete it the many other times I had tried, but now I have! Definitely my favorite game in the series thus far, and one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played. :)

Random discussion with my girlfriend while playing Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Everything was said with complete sincerity.
GF: Can you drown?
Me: No, he's like Mario.
GF: Why can't Mario drown?
Me: He's a plumber.
GF: Oh.

My ex-plumber's lawyer says otherwise.

Racing the Beam by Ian Bogost and Nick Montfort is a good one, and I think the new MIT series "Playful Thinking" is also quite good and accesible: http://mitpress.mit.edu/books/series/pl ... ing-series

Or are you looking for something on a particular game? Perhaps Masters of Doom or either of Jordan Mechner's "Journals" books?

I am planning to read that soon myself (it is sitting on the shelf and I've leafed through it a bit...)
