Veggie omelettes. cook some spinach, green onions, green peppers, and mushrooms in a skillet for a while, then add the beaten eggs. Yum.Xeogred wrote:Funny food thoughts.
Anyone have any tips on sneaking spinach into things? Would spinach in boiling water ruin it at all? The idea I had was to blend it in with the water used to make rice. Wonder if I'd still get the magic spinach properties in that way.
Can't believe I never thought to grate some up to throw on top of left overs.

Huh, learn something new everyday...but probably still missing quite a few episodes(since I have done the research and it saddens me that I'll never see it from the beginning in it's entirety...unless someone has them somehow or has somehow reproduced them which wouldn't surprise me if it ever happenedprfsnl_gmr wrote:Hulu+ has the originals too...darsparx wrote:Wait a minute...since when does hulu have doctor who? Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I first saw the fourth Doctor series as a kid. When PBS got hold of the earler ones that were available and started from the beginning, I had a really hard time getting into the first two series. IMHO the third series is when it got good. Tom Baker is still my favorite though. Tom and his scarf, Sarah Jane, Leela, and K-9 are the most iconic characters for me.darsparx wrote:Wait a minute...since when does hulu have doctor who? Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Dr Who episodes pop up all the time. They will eventually have copies of every episode thanks to SETI:
http://www.rimmell.com/bbc/news.htm
The last discovery was in South Africa. Of the 97 episodes lost in the fire in the 70s, I believe we have 40 of the episodes in full, 20 with just audio, and 10 with audio and partial video/set pictures. So 27 lost completely, well until the proper Dr Who discovery of episodes in deep space.

That kinda sounds like something straight out of some shows I've watched but if that's true it would be freaking amazing.....

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I agree that Tom Baker is the best Doctor, and I have really enjoyed his episodes. (Jon Pertwee is my second favorite.) My wife and I have been working our way through Netflix and Hulu+'s collection of classic episodes, and I have been enjoyed them tremendously. (I never watched the show growing up; so, they are all new to me.)
I do not feel compelled to see all of them. I am very glad, however, that they are working to recover the lost episodes. I have read that some of them are very good.
(Also, I wonder what, 25 light years away, is boucing back our radio signals? It sounds like a mystery for the Doctor himself...

From the (very cool) article fastBilly1 linked in his post:Stark wrote:Wait, what?prfsnl_gmr wrote:(Also, I wonder what, 25 light years away, is boucing back our radio signals? It sounds like a mystery for the Doctor himself...)
Responding to questions, Dr Venn was at pains to explain that little green men are not showing repeats of old Earth shows. "They are signals that left the Earth about 50 years ago and have bounced off an object or more likely a field of objects some 25 light years away". Radio signals travel at approximately 300,000 kilometers per second. The distance the vintage signals have traveled in the intervening years is vast and whatever they are bouncing off is too far away to see with even the most advanced optical telescopes. "...we asked NASA if they could point Hubble at the centre of what we've named the 'Bounce Anomaly'. NASA were very keen to help once they had seen our data." However the $3 billion space telescope was unable to produce any clues as to what the signals are bouncing off. One theory is a massive cloud of asteroids is acting like a mirror in space reflecting radio signals from our past, back to us.
