Hey I'd rather eat at Waffle House than subject myself to a Deus Ex game again.

My family eats Waffle House every Saturday since it was my grandfathers favorite. That tradition started in 1982 and continues to this day. Through this we have met most of the people that created Waffle House and many of the people who created menu items - Like Bert of Bert's Chili and Alice of the Iced Tea fame. While many people do not enjoy the food of the chain, I grew up eating it and to me it is what I want when I go out to eat. Now a bad Waffle House is a shithole, but a good one is amazing.

Allstar: Eggs over easy, bacon, hashbrowns, raisin toast, and a Coke, to me this is perfection in a meal.

Maybe that's the problem. In my experience the vast majority of them are shitholes and the few I have been in that were decent were in fact in the south (though there are bad ones there too). Again, I'd prefer them to Denny's or most kinds of fast food breakfast choices, but I feel I've been to many many diners that outclass even the best Waffle Houses.

waffle house isn't that great, y'all. i'm with dave on this one. there are TONS of mom 'n pop diners around here and i haven't been to half of them. i have no reason to even fuck with a waffle house or a denny's when there are other, local, unique places to get essentially the same, if not better, food.

Are they open 24 hours a day so you can go get your smothered and covered on at like 3 AM after a big night of drankin?

In my experience, this is really why Waffle House is such a successful chain.

I knew too many people of questionable personal hygiene and moral direction who worked at a Waffle House. I tend to prefer IHOP for chain breakfast, or First Watch.
