There's opinion and there's just being plain wrong. :P
I could see someone feeling that way if they prefer Super Mario Kart style over full 3D tracks with hills and junk like 64 and on.
I'm just joshing him. Super Circuit is a great game.

Even if you're not a Double Dash fan, you have to like Super Circuit, with it returning the original SNES tracks with all the new powerups.

Going back to the Mario Sunshine discussion, I've been replaying it a bit the last couple of days and it's utterly criminal how underrated and over criticised this game is. Seriously.

Seriously.

I imagine all the people asking for Mario Sunshine 2 on Wii U is exceedingly confusing to Nintendo considering how much backlash there was for that game.

Thing is, there's many aspects of Sunshine that I prefer over Galaxy. For example, I much prefer how each world was made up of 8 levels and each world was just a big world to explore. Galaxy is far more fragmented and linear.

I think the only core Nintendo franchise that actually improved in the transition from the N64 to the Gamecube was Smash Bros. Mario, Zelda, Wave Race and F-Zero were all worse IMO. Mario Kart and Starfox were much, much worse. And some never made it like Pilotwings. In its defence the GC got a fantastic Metroid game and Rogue Leader.
F-Zero GX is honestly the only F-Zero that I can say I actually love. The others are alright, but to me the series has always been dreadfully bland outside of GX.

As for the SNES to N64... ugh... Starfox was better I guess?
For me, GX is my least favorite F-Zero without question. It's the only one in which there's more frustration than fun, and not the frustration that makes you want to try harder. I mean the frustration that makes you want to throw your wavebird controller at that stupid stray cat outside your bedroom window wandering your backyard, picking fights with other mangy ass strays and taking a shit on your grass every other day.

Ah, yikes, sorry for the tangent. TL:DR GX = least favorite for me.

For me, F-Zero GX is the best in the series. I remember it being frustratingly hard, but I still loved it.

I could never beat the story mode but the rest of the game was still great. I suck at racing games though. I haven't been able to unlock everything in All Star Racing Transformed.

Don' worry F-Zero GX is probably the hardest racing game ever made. I love it, but there is no way I am ever going to beat it.

I could never beat the Story mode either, but I could beat the Arcade mode and get all the cups. And I did get reasonably far in the story mode.
