PS4 Pricing now and soon

Post by Tanooki »

With Destiny coming out in September and my nephew looking to get it as well I've been thinking about it. My finances aren't great but I think I can save enough and flip parts of my stuff off well enough to snap the thing up, but $400 isn't a drop in the bucket.

Have any of you seen any special deals going on for the system in general, specific sites/companies doing sales, or seen any rumblings of a price drop anytime soon?

I have a PS3, won't sell it but I doubt I'd keep the games as much as I love them I don't play them anymore and what's left is Destiny and a couple of Tales of RPGs I could probably not find the time wit a 2 year old running around. So if anyone has any suggestions on what to do or where to look for a deal I'd love to hear it.

There's a Destiny bundle for $450.

I saw the destiny bundle, $10 savings, but I guess call me picky but after the Wii I don't want a white console. :)

I'd like to get the system for $350 which is what the WiiU sold for when it popped up, that's really my max.

I always check out walmart.com when buying consoles. They almost always have a good bundle. So, you may pay the full price of the console but you will get stuff thrown in for free. Right now they don't have good bundles on the PS4, but after the Destiny Bundle comes out you may be able to choose it and get the extra games thrown in. Just for reference, here is what I've paid for systems from there in the past:

Xbox One: $500
Kinect Bundle
Forza 5
Titan Fall
Dead Rising 3

Wii U: $399 (back when they were still that price new)
Zombi U Bundle which included Wii U Deluxe, Zombi U, Pro Controller, Nintendo Land.
New Super Mario Bros. U
Extra Wiimote

PSP: $99
PSP Piano Black
6 games
Memory Card

As you can see they usually sell the systems for the retail price but throw in a bunch of extras.

I always check there if I want a new system. Usually the worse the console sells or the older it is, the better bundle you'll get.

When the Destiny one is available, you might be able to find them used for cheap, here or at a brick and mortar, if people switch out their black one for a white one.

Not a bad idea, but from experience, usually black friday 1 year after release, there won't be much of a price drop, if any at all. They'll put the same retail price, but bundle a ton of stuff or throw in a gift card.

Also note you get a PS4 New for $360 shipped on ebay. They've had a "fire sale" on it, that seems to never end: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PlayStation-4-C ... 27e55aaba3

I will say though, PS3 and Xbox 360 on black Friday... There will be amazing deals.

Good eye on that, didn't know they did a long term fire sale on it, and with no shipping charges and being out of state, no tax either slicing another 6% off it too. I've got around 250 I think in paypal at the moment. If I can get some people to buy some of my stuff up on ebay and here/digital press it shouldn't take too long thankfully as that cuts 40 and the tax from the price.

haha that is hardly a deal. I have seen large amounts of PS4's selling brand new for $360 shipped, that is how I got mine.
