I know this is going to sound noobish, but I honestly don't know. I don't know much about genesis, I just got a 1st model genesis today, but I don't know if it is the right model. It probably isn't, considering my luck.
Also, I wanted to know if 32X works on all genesis model types. thanks.
Which Genesis model can work with cd
The bottom line: it doesn't matter.
Some people will tell you, only certain versions work with each other, but I can vouch that they all work together.
Same goes with the 32X.
I can't remember if it only has issues with the 32X or the Sega CD as well, but the cheap and late release Model 3 doesn't work with everything

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

I believe the reason nothing seems to work with the model 3 is cuz it was just plain crappy and didn't have the proper internals. I believe there are two different Sega CDs, one for model one and one for model 2. And the 32X works on model one, two, and the CDX. Check wikipedia for more info on this and more

Wiki and answers both said nothing to hookup more that that you put the system on the tray thing, it didn't have compatability of the genesis' systems. There were three models, the first, with a design for genesis 1, the second, with design for genesis 2, and third, wich is the sega/mega cdX, wich was a genesis and sega CD built in together(I've only ever seen one of these :/)
It's not pretty, but it works.Zalphier wrote:Thx for the info
Just one question, how would you go about hooking up a model 1 genesis to a model 2 sega cd(which in my experience, is the most commen)
Because by the looks of the model 2, it looks like it wouldn't fit :/
It's been a while since I've seen that combo, but it does piece together.
On the opposite side, I used a Model 2 Genny/Model 1 SCD combo for many years.
