The, "Do You Still Play?" Thread

Post by BogusMeatFactory »

Many games out there, provide entertainment over incredibly extended periods of time. Games like Minecraft, DayZ, Animal Crossing etc. are games that do not always offer immediate gratification. Instead, these games challenge you to continue playing the game a little over time to build towards things.

What makes me curious is if people still play certain titles. This is why this thread was created, for people to ask, "Do you still play?" certain titles like these to see if the longevity is worth a purchase.

Games like Animal Crossing are always victims for me. I tend to play them semi-regularly for a few months, but then give up for a year and then come back. When asked, "Do you still play Animal Crossing?" my answer is always, no, but I should.

I also am VERY interested in getting Tomodatchi Life. I know it is nothing more than a whacky Tamagotchi, but I was wondering if anyone did buy it, still play it and if there is enough content that lasts longer than a few days. So I ask, "Do you still play Tomodatchi Life?"

I guess I fell into your trap of awhile and stop, but my awhile was years (4 I think) I put into Guild Wars until people greatly just quit it going into the beta of the sequel. I ended up buying that one and played it for like 3 months or so, but stopped it almost entirely cold turkey. My best friend who got me into the original and we went into that one died of a widow maker heartattack the day after Christmas in 2012 and aside from being pressured into it a few times with my nephews I just didn't bother. I still have it and the original installed, and I don't think the game purges accounts so he's still tied to both and I left it that way. The original Animal Crossing I went into for a good year and it got stale, never could repeat it with the later stuff though aside from the 3DS one they were poor. I think the one 'do I still play' though not in the least bit seriously anymore would be Tetris. That original GB game sat as my go-to always in there thing to use and keep dust out of the thing until Mario Golf came out. Tetris never really gets old though it has become lamer with hold blocks and lame tricks like rolling parts infinitely at the bottom or up walls to buy time.
