I like pie for breakfast. Also quiche. I think pie is as much a morning food as a dessert. Also, I think I prefer most "traditional" breakfast foods, like pancakes, biscuits, sausage, that sorta stuff, for dinner. If pie or quiche is not available for breakfast (and it often isn't), I go for something with protein, like a peanut/cashew/almond butter sandwich or a tuna fish sandwich if I have some tuna salad mixed up in the fridge.
Cereal is OK, but I think of it more as a snack, especially since I don't eat it with milk.

No shame in that. Moderation is the key for those that do partake, but of course abstaining avoids a lot of issues.jp1 wrote:I can't even touch the drink threads since I gave up alcohol entirely 18 months ago.
Most weekdays I have pop tarts, bagels, or some other pastry that I can grab and eat room temperature or toasted after I start work. It mostly happens on the weekends too, but there's at least a chance I might eat something more rounded on a day off. Though honestly I eat 'breakfast foods' at other times of the day. Whether it's bacon/eggs/pancakes or cereal, it doesn't matter.

Thanks. Moderation was the problem, or lack thereof. I've never had an addictive personality so if I feel something is getting out of hand (such as drinking nearly every night) then I walk away from it. It was becoming a crutch for stress, which is no good. Sometimes it is hard, sometimes not. I miss being able to have a good beer every once in a while or some really good gin.Hobie-wan wrote:No shame in that. Besides the above said reasons, my kids started to ask questions about stops at the liquor store, or beer that I was drinking and I wasn't happy with the example it was setting. Walk the walk and all that.
No judgments for those that do imbibe. It just wasn't for me any longer.
I do however miss french toast, we have a local place in Tally that makes a bananas foster french toast with french bread and pecans...it is too good to exist. I get cravings every time we go by.

On a serious note, can we all agree that the best breakfasts are ones you don't have to make yourself? I woke up to the GF making taquitos (yeah, it's lunchtime already for you normals).
