Summer Games Challenge 2014
Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
1. Jet Grind Radio (DC)
2. Skies of Arcadia (DC)
3. Final Fantasy VIII (PSX)
4. Legend of Zelda (NES)
5. Samba de Amigo (DC)
6. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (DC)
7. Super Mario World (SNES)
8. Metal Gear Solid (PSX)
9. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3)
10. Grandia II (DC; Finish It!)
Honestly might be all I get around to this summer--work picks back up on Monday. I might have at it with Jet Grind Radio, MGS, or Uncharted. The RPGs and Zelda might require a bit more time. Zelda I needed like three pieces of the triforce, then my copy glitched out and won't boot anymore. :-\

Up to 35 stars now... which I think is about half-way through? Progress is going slow because I haven't been feeling well, and I'm also having troubles controlling Mario. I don't know what it is, but I can't seem to get Mario to do what I want arg.

Exactly half way through. What is it about the controls that bug you?laurenhiya21 wrote:Up to 35 stars now... which I think is about half-way through? Well I always seem to have trouble getting Mario to do a side-flip-jump-thing, and I keep on walking off everything. ><;Sload Soap wrote:Exactly half way through. I mean, I'm awful at platforming in general, so it might just be me, but it's still bothersome.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
1. LoZ: Ocarina of Time (Wii VC)
2. Ico (PS2)
3. Silent Hill (PS1)
4. Super Mario 64 (Wii VC)
5. LoZ: Oracle of Ages (3DS VC)
6. Half-Life (Steam)
7. Super Punch-Out!! (Wii VC)
8. Ys I + II (Steam)
9. Gunstar Heroes (Steam)
10. Phantasy Star (GEN)
So last night, I beat Super Mario 64
I just went for the minimum amount of stars, since I was having enough trouble with getting 70... never mind 120 or 150. I had fun in some of the stages (Boo's Mansion, Joly Roger's Bay, Dire Dire Docks, and the first stage) but most of the rest... usually not as much. A lot of the others had insta-death pits (not something I like at all) or not really that interesting (Wet-Dry World). Also I had some trouble with moving Mario around and doing that side-flip thing... I think the moving of Mario may of been the camera's fault, since sometimes I just couldn't tell where I was in relating to other things... Or it could of just been my terrible skills with platformers. Not sure which :l
Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it a good amount. I think just my platforming skills + camera made it a bit less fun than it would of been.
Not quite sure which game I'm going for next... Thinking either OoT, or Gunstar Heroes.

Trudging through dkc right now. Doesn't help that i'm playing on my white gba but still, guess next month I'm getting a light o some sort to put over top of this and switching back to ys....just gotta remember to play a little everyday so i don't have another of those "I have no clue where I'm at, and need to start again". Ys does in the psn version I have feel a lot like every gba rpg i've played except for the battle system. Really ought to finish it and get on with my list i'm so behind
My gameroom

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
I'm about 1/3 of the way through both Return Fire (PS1) and Halo 2 (XBOX) at the moment. I think that if I actually sit down with them, I can get through both pretty quickly. I started up Puppeteer (PS3) this weekend, however; so, there is a very good chance I may get distracted. (Puppeteer is incredible, BTW. I am playing it with my children, and we are all in love with it.)
Also, is it a bad sign that I like my covenant teammates more than my space marine teammates when I play Halo 2? The covenant elites are so awesome, but the space marines just get on my nerves...("SPACE 'MURICAAAAA!!!!!" has become my battlecry whenever I have to play as Master Chief.)

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
Decided to start up Ocarina of Time
I know I've played a bunch a long while ago, but I can't remember how far I've gotten... just remember getting really stuck and giving up haha.
Got the first two spiritual stones easily enough (I'm surprised how short the dungeons were), and now I'm onto Jabu Jabu's Belly. I do remember this being a pain in the butt, and since everybody else seems to also think so... I'm not really looking forward to this ><;

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
Cor blimey, Skies is a long game. Not even on the second disc yet, though I think I'm near. Just landed at Sky Japan. The people are pretty arrogant about westerners considering I turned up in a gigantic steel plated battleship.
Also did a quick run of Rocket Knight Adventures. Got as far as the fifth level before a game over, which isn't too bad. Learned all the boss patterns and what not. Like it a lot. Some great sprite work and the rocket pack gimmick is cool. Rocket himself is a cool dude. 100% 90's 'tude.
