Interesting.

Unfortunately, I don't think these will be working consoles, based on the prototype image.
The sad thing is they could probably manage to do so with the smaller components that could emulate the hardware. Heck, even if it played some built in ROMs or something that would be neat.

You ever pick up an RPG you've had for a while and see what old save files are on there? It's interesting to see what your choices in characters you use or how you name your characters reflects on who you were back then.

I booted up FFVI not too long ago and one of the save files is from a game I did back in Jr. High, where all the characters were named after people in my class. I named the females after who I thought were the hottest girls in the class.

Then today I booted up Secret of Mana to play with some friends who are in town for the weekend. I didn't want to start a new game since it takes so long to get your second and third character. Three of the games were level 60+ near end game files, and one was a level 25ish game at Kakkara. When we loaded it up I saw the file had Salamando, so I figured next step was to do the Fire Temple. We got all the way through and killed the boss only to find the Fire Seed wasn't there. Turns out in this save I had gotten Salamando, then came back to Kakkara instead of continuing in the Ice Country to do the Ice Castle and get the Fire Seed.

Haha I did the same thing with the female RPG characters. Now I mostly leave the default names, though I typically name the female lead after my daughter.

It's also fun to buy used RPGs and look at the previous owner's save files. The person who owned The 7th Saga before me apparently only lasted about thirty minutes. What's more perplexing though is finding used games where the previous owner sunk in tons of time and then ending up selling the game. My pre-owned copies of Glory of Heracles and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey both have several 80+ hour save files.

I love having a very unique saved game file for people to come across. When Cronozilla bought one of my many copies of Animal Crossing: Wild World, he came across a militaristic dystopia where everyone persecuted bunnies and there may or may not have been some horrifying imagery involved. I warned him ahead of time that whatever he finds is a joke and not serious. Didn't want him to think I was a hate monger or anything.

With RPGs and the like, I love making weird names most of the time, unless I really adore the game.

I do the same thing, and when I get to create my own party, I name all the members of the party after members of my family (and, depending on the circumstances, our dogs). Using the character creation tools in DQIX, I actually created pretty good likenesses of each member of my family, and I must say that we were a pretty good team. (My daughter was the lead, my son was a mage, I was a cleric, and my wife was a black belt.)

I do the exact same thing when I play RPGs. I name the main character after myself, and the subsequent characters the way you described. Sometimes it's awkward though. One time during a JRPG the main character developed a love interest with a female character whom I had named after my daughter.

Do I need to play Dead Space 2 to play Dead Space 3? I played the original one only.
