I have been searching for one for awhile and I saw this walking past a thrift store today, $15 and a call to my dad for a hand later.

I remember when I found mine. After reading so much about them, I was keeping an eye out for one. Luckily, when I found the one I have right now, I was with a friend. And luckily, that friend drove and had an SUV. So not only did I have a hand lifting it, but transporting it was cake.
Assuming it didn't come with a remote, here's what I did: Get the PDF manual for your model TV. In the manual some where it should have the model number for the remote. Then search the remote's model number on eBay. That's how I got mine, and it was REALLY easy too because there was a lot of them on eBay. Normally I'd be fine without the original remote (I could always program a remote) but you need the original to get into the service menu, if you care to do that.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
After a very, VERY slow summer, I finally have some finds worth talking about!
About 8-9 months ago, I went to a garage sale that had games for a ton of different systems (NES, SNES, N64, C64, Amiga, Genesis, Master System), but strangely they only had 1 or 2 games for each system, and the systems themselves were nowhere in sight. Fast forward to today, when I show up to the house and realize it's the same garage sale from before, and they have more stuff. Apparently, they have more stuff too in their house that they haven't pulled out yet, so there may be a 3rd parter to this in the future, but for now, I got some great pickups. Everything below cost me exactly $50 (and all cart only unless otherwise stated).
NES: Kickmaster (box only), Tecmo World Wrestling (box only), x2 Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros., 110 in 1 pirate cart, NES Action Set (no console, but complete with styrofoam, manuals, etc. It even has extra French manuals because Canada), Game Genie, NES Max.
SNES: PGA Tour Golf (complete), Wing Commander (box only), NHL 95, NHL Stanley Cup, Sporting News Baseball, Super Scope 6, x2 Super Mario World (one with manual).
N64: Diddy Kong Racing, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, Rayman 2, Ocarina of Time, Brunswick Pro Circuit Bowling, Gex 3, Pokemon Stadium, Memory Card (3rd party).
Genesis: Jurassic Park, World Series Baseball, Dragon's Revenge, Sonic the Hedgehog, x2 Sonic the Hedgehog 2, 4 3 button controllers, 1 Ascii Pad, and a metric ton of Sega power supplies.
Sega CD: Chuck Rock (CIB).
Game Gear: World Series Baseball, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, NBA Jam (manual only).
Game Boy/GBC: TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
PS1: Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (disc only) and a PS1 system (no cables).
Amiga: Oh No More Lemmings (CIB), Troddlers (box only).
Misc: Space Battle (Intellivision, box and manual only), Omega Race (Vic-20, cart only), Coleco Gemini system with 1 controller, no cables, Commodore 64 system(box only, oddly enough with the Canadian Olympic seal of approval on it...).
A pretty good haul overall, and I should make some of my money back on duplicates.

If you have some spare cash you also can't beat a Logitech Harmony. Damn things can be programed to run just about everything. Got a Harmony 650 for around $60 shipped when I was looking for a controller for the Viewsonic NextVision HD12 I picked up a while back. If not for the Harmony that thing would have been a total brick since finding a replacement remote was pretty much impossibleZiggy587 wrote:Nice!emwearz wrote:I have been searching for one for awhile and I saw this walking past a thrift store today, $15 and a call to my dad for a hand later.

It can have up to seven devices setup if I remember correctly. Right now it's just running the HD12 tuner and the Trinitron in my computer room but it works like a charm. Need to program it for all the tvs around the house so I can just carry it around. One remote to rule them all
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Can you use it to get into the service menu though?

PS3:
Child of Eden (CIB) - $1.93
Metal Gear Solid 4 (CIB) - $1.93
R.U.S.E (CIB) - $1.93
Total: $5.93
I picked them up at GS with the $5 off coupons they've been giving out. Heads up everyone else, it's a good way to pick up some low-tier games.
