Top Pot is excellent, but pricey unless you buy them through a QFC. Since we're talking Seattle donuts though, my personal favorite is Ly's Donuts in the University district. They are ridiculously HUGE and delicious. I also like Family Donut in Northgate. And if I'm feeling like a cake donut or traveling with a vegan compadre, then Mighty-O is the place to go.

We had an authentic NYC bagel place near my old office. Complete with monthly water delivery and NYC rats. But it had the best everything bagel on the planet in my opinion. I could eat three of them and not care. They were just the perfect mixture of toppings and just smooth bread.

Nahh, don't do butter. Toast it with some strawberry or raspberry jam.

Indeed we CAN hang out together again.

I know a Jammer (is that what they are called?) who makes incredible strawberry and blackberry jam. Have to try.

Making Panela omelets for my wife tomorrow morning.

Yup. I'll be getting some.

Ok seriously, pardon me for being frank, but please stop telling us ever time you are intimate with your wife. We don't care and it's getting irritating to read about it all the time. I've had others bring it up to me as well, so I know it isn't just me. I mean seriously, if we ran into her at the store we could pipe up with a "So how was that fuck session with Luke last Tuesday?" and be right on the money that it happened. I doubt she'd be enthusiastic about other people knowing exactly when and how often.

There are so many doughnut places that are better than Voodoo Doughnuts here. Their donuts are somewhat awful.

Their only appeal is they have a zany appearance. Who cares?

They're better than most stuff like Krispy Kreme and the modern Dunkin Donuts (and everyone is better than grocery store donuts), but compared to non-chain bakeries (which is what Voodoo Doughnut is), they don't compare.

I just tried a fresh scone topped with clotted cream the other night. I feel like I have discovered some ambrosia that mortals should have never combined into one dish. *drools*

I've only been there once, but I thought they were pretty neat. Sounds like I need to talk to you about where to go next time I'm in Portland. Or maybe we could meet there for coffee!! :)

For Bakeries, in my opinion, you actually need to get out of downtown Portland and go further into the metro area. Either north or south. Beaverton has awesome bakeries, and so does whatever that place is next to the airport (there's a great meat market there too)

Downtown really owns at restaurants. But they're expensive as all hell and if you want "ethnic", they're still not the best.

Stark, that sounds cool!
I'm definitely going to be at stuff like the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, so if anyone wants to meet there that could totally happen.
