kidfresh's unladen game room

Post by kidfresh »

Just recently moved into a new apartment! I'm still going to college and paying for textbooks and all sorts of fun stuff, so I don't have the most lavish pad/set up. But I'm enjoying it a lot! I apologize for the poor lighting, it's not the brightest room!

Image

Image
Here's my brand new 2-slot Neo Geo! I drove from Syracuse to PA for, and got it for only 475 (which I thought was a freaking steal. Hard to find anything Neo Geo in the Northeast.) The man I bought it from threw in Metal Slug 4, Puzzle Bobble, and Samurai Shodown IV! I've got a full kit Metal Slug 1 comin' in the mail tomorrow, so tomorrow shall be a grand day off.

Image
The TV stand, where all the console gaming occurs. Right now I've just got a Dreamcast, a Genesis, and a Super Nintendo hooked up to it (the latter are behind the tv stand slidey doors, yo).

Image
My nifty framemeister! I still need to buy a scart switcher, an RGB SNES cable, and something to convert vga to rgb for the DC.

Image

Image
The genesis, and my kick-ass Sega CD! When funds allow, I'll buy one of the expensive af games for it (preferably a Working Designs game).

Image
I'm a little bit of a perfectionist/videophile in case that wasn't apparent.

Image

Image
Most of my boxed games..

Image
Loose SNES games! Collection's growing!
Turtles in Time, DKC, Goof Troop, Super Mario All-Stars, Spiderman X-Men, Super Bomberman, Megaman X, and Super Metroid!

Image
Loose genny games.

And that's everything! I had to split my collection down the middle with another friend because we collected together, but this is what I got to keep, and I'm working on rebuilding whenever funds allow! I forgot to take a pic - but all controllers and accessories chill in a drawer in the tv-stand.

Thanks for looking!

Very clean setup, but how do you game on the tv? Do you have a beanbag to place in front of it or something? I can imagine it would be uncomfortable to play from that bunkbed.

Thanks, BRIK! That's one of the shittier aspects of the room - I have a bench that I can drag in, but nothing that stays in the room. Beanbags are an awesome idea.

It's recommend, having a beanbag is awesome! Especially when it comes to consoles that have short cables, like the SNES.

very nice.

I'll bet you be the fun guy of the apartment with the Neo Geo cab.

Charge them a quarter to play!

Nice collection. The cabinet is cool and I'm jealous of that model 1 Sega CD (or any Sega CD for tht matter). is the Genesis TMSS or non-TMSS?

I will say, though, that you need Sonic Adventure for your Dreamcast collection. Best 3D Sonic game and one of the best games for the Dreamcast.

Sweet room! Love that tv stand.

I have to disagree with BRIK. As soon as you sit on a beanbag you look homeless, and they are no good for *ahem* extracurricular activities.

Stay fresh, kid.

What?

I've never, ever seen a homeless person with a beanbag chair. Nor have I ever met someone that was concerned with looking homeless in their own home.

You could have just said it outright: "I tried to have sex in a beanbag chair once"

Do, there is no try.

Her ass kept sticking to the vinyl, making this awkward sound, and the bag provides no traction (even while in a corner). Plus there's nothing to grab. Just terrible.

Sorry, continue the thread.

There is always something to grab

Sorry freshkid  your room looks slick. A nice framed poster or two would really bring it together.
