Great sound, you have a future.
You know that story, about how NASA spent millions of dollars developing this pen that writes in Zero G? Did you ever read that?
You know how the Russians solved the problem?
They used a pencil.

Listening to it now...

I'll say you guys have some skill. But nothing to memorable in that set. No track screamed "hey listen to me" when playing it. Each tune starts off in a relatively generic manner.

Except for the first track, "Layin it Down", the opening for that one has some really good promise for a good song. And it starts off really fun, I really like the low vocals at first, but the song then kind of loses me after a while.

The rest do the usual rock ballad, "twang twang, vababababababa, OHHHHH love loss and I need to go home, listen to my wisdom cause music is empathetic, wooohooowooo". Not to sound condescending... not at all. That's what a lot of songs are all about, and they're good. I'm just saying the way you open into it immediately kinda makes it feel generic.

Eh there is talent here, like duct said. This isn't really my kind of music. I'd like to say I don't like the singer (sorry if that's you), but when do I ever like the human voice? I'm always about instrumental. Speaking of that, these songs sound 80% full. I really think you could squeeze in another layer somehow, but I couldn't really say what instrument would help.

I'm going to agree with what Duct and Moz said, for the most part. You guys can definitely play, and there is a market out there for this type of music.

I'm not much into anything Christian (no offense to anyone out there who is), and the music sounds a bit like post-grunge with some 80's style vocals. The only reason I would call it 80's-styled vocals is because of the long, high yells that occur fairly often. In fact, the vocals impressed me most. It's hard to find a singer who can pull off the Robert Plant/Chris Cornell yells. From what I've heard of your music, I prefer the vocals in the choruses of your songs over those in the verses.

From one musician to another, the only thing I would suggest is to push the envelope just a little further. You know, maybe some unusual time signatures here and there, and a little less use of the obvious guitar chords. (Example: In Like a Child, the main riff is an A with a C hammer-on. Those two notes have been used in many songs before it, often with a very similar progression.)

But like I said, there is a market for this type of music. In fact, the instrumental band I was in for years actually considered 'temporarily becoming' a Christian rock band just to reach that other audience, and possibly get signed with some none-the-wiser Christian label. We didn't follow through, however. Even though we were a band made of athiests and agnostics, we still had some kind of moral code. :P

Good luck with everything, man. Maybe when my new band is gig-ready, we can trade some shows or something - if you play bars of course. :)
