from wikipedia:

October 1, 2008: Square Enix transforms into a holding company and is renamed into Square Enix Holdings. At the same time the gaming, contents and publishing businesses are transferred to a spin-off named Square Enix,[1] sharing the same corporate leadership and offices with the holding.[4][17]

February 12, 2009 - Square Enix Holdings announced a takeover deal worth £84.3 million (32p per share) for Eidos plc, the holding company for Eidos Interactive, the UK-based publisher of the Tomb Raider, Hitman, Deus Ex, Thief and Legacy of Kain franchises.[18]

April 22, 2009 - The acquisition of Eidos is completed.

March 11, 2010 - All games that Taito Corporation has published for home consoles and portable systems are now handled by Square Enix.[19]

June 17, 2013 - Square Enix started a mobile studio called Smileworks in Indonesia led by Hiroaki Kanamura. Its focus is original content for mobile devices including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia.[20]

Huh, interesting. I think I recalled hearing about this a long time ago, and then promptly forgot about it. I did know about Taito though, as I have a Space Invaders game with a Square Enix logo on it.

You forget they're a big publisher nowadays, heh.

I mean, those aren't good examples at all, but yeah... not that rare for them to publish stuff better than what they develop in house thesedays.

If you don't already own Deus Ex: Human Revolution, why not? That game should have taken game of the year over Skyrim.

Yeah, the bundle freaking sucks. It's funny that they included Daikatana.

Level 5 is a pretty good developer, same as Studio Ghibli. Squeenix has evolved into some weird sewer-creature the last few years, almost none of their games appeal to me anymore.

I'm a little surprised being Square they're not throwing in any of their heavy in house made hitters from their RPG lineups. I'd be all over it for that, but I don't have an interest in their companies they bought out franchises. I know it would NEVER happen but a Square humble bundle for android/ios would be wicked. Think of getting the various SNES ports that cost them basically nothing, then for a match throw in the DS ports or something else like DQ8.
