Official SNES Controller for Wii: Lag?
Re: Official SNES Controller for Wii: Lag?
I have this, and bought mine used but mint "complete". I use it less than I expected because, truely, the Virtual Console games I really got in to were the N64 games. But I do love it for SNES games. The small size is nice for games you can take time with like RPGs. I agree with the comment that it will have as much or little lag as the normal Classic Controller. I've actually been meaning to plug it in to a PC paired Wiimote to see if the extension controller has a different ID than the classic controller. I know on Wii games, it identifies as a classic controller- though there you have the same problem that very few Wii games that support classic controller don't also utilize the analog sticks. If you want it for emulation purposes, I'd say that if you are satisfied with the lag of the Wiimote's built in 1+2 buttons/dpad, the SFC CC will have the same lag. But count me among those who has yet to have a PC emulation of SMW feel "right". Granted, I have a terrible PC.

I have the mayflash adapter and I have never noticed any input lag at all. My only issue is sometimes the NES port stops working, but 99% of the time I'm using the SNES controller.

Nyukki wrote:^ Sure, display lag could also be a factor. All I know is, push B on classic controller, Mario jumps. Push B on SNES controller through Mayflash, Mario takes his sweet time.

The third party adapters on retrousb.com for real SNES controllers have zero lag (personal experience), just for the record.

That's good to know. I thought about that yesterday, whether anyone makes NES/SNES/Mega Drive controllers with Gamecube ends then I would buy one of each, though if the adaptor is 0-lag then whoopdeedoo.
Went on RetroUSB, seems he's only selling the NES adaptors.

I'm waiting for both the Super Famicom Wii Classic Controller and the Mayflash Adapter from the mail. Anyone tried using this controller and adapter on the PS3?
Re: Official SNES Controller for Wii: Lag?
^ If I'm not mistaken they both plug into the Wiimote, how would you use them on a PS3?

I thought OP was asking about the Super Famicom Wii Classic controller that Nintendo gave away as a reward, that's the one I just got today, the converter I ordered is Wii Classic to USB from Mayflash.Nyukki wrote:^ If I'm not mistaken they both plug into the Wiimote, how would you use them on a PS3?

Oh, that adapter is wonky with the PS3, from what I remember trying.C-Sword wrote:I thought OP was asking about the Super Famicom Wii Classic controller that Nintendo gave away as a reward, that's the one I just got today, the converter I ordered is Wii Classic to USB from Mayflash.Nyukki wrote:^ If I'm not mistaken they both plug into the Wiimote, how would you use them on a PS3?
