It's no different than the stupidity that happens when a new Sony or MS console comes out.
True enough but thanks to all the internet entitled elite and the crybaby trolls Hyperkin being the vastly larger company than Sony and MS combined are held to a much higher standard of having systems with zero issues at all and that they must have a million or more ready at launch or there will be hell to pay. :)

Do you really think they'll sell a million of these? I'd be quite surprised...

Just got a shipment notification from booksamillion, so anyone having trouble ordering online don't be afraid to call to place an order. It worked out for me. Till I get it get it fully tested out I'm keeping the amazon pre-order. Best news I've had all day. And my snes it's on it's way from eBay. Picked up a pretty clean one with controllers and cables for $35. Gotta start cleaning my carts.

HK Mktg reported on Facebook yesterday that they're going to be getting a thousand unit plus shipment of black Retron 5s for Amazon pre-orders by early next week, so those of you hanging on, it might be your time soon.

Re-read what I said, but this time do it with sarcasm in the voice in your head. :P And probably some serious numbers some day. A million seems like a lot but their intent is worldwide in various literal stores and then online sales so it's I imagine possible at least.

Well, shit. I wish I'd known that there were ones in Selinsgrove. I actually wanted the SNES color-schemed one, but had to settle for black

What were there sale numbers on the Retron 3? I see them everywhere, I bet it sold a million.

I'm convinced that this is a good product now, but that three digit price point still makes me wince. If this thing cost half as much, I'd buy it. For a hundred and forty dollars, it's beyond my budget for now.

Got my grey model from booksamillion and after a thorough checking and updating alls well. It does feel delicate when pouting the carts in and I am very gentle. Even with a little electric grease the nes and genesis slots are real tight scary so. Everytime I try and pull it out it feels like I'm going to rip the socket off the board. I don't see this thing standing up well to heavy usage. Thankfully I got my replacement snes and with adapters I will likely use this primarily and keep the retron on standby.

Lucked out on the snes from eBay as it looks almost never used and even the controller looks and feels real fresh. No yellowing at all. I have an composite/svideo to hdmi converter/upscaler and the snes games look beautiful on the big screens upscaled on original hardware. Still I do like the retron 5 although the controller definately can be improved on.
