"Mike Rhuba."

I saw Battle Los Angeles, from the same director of this TMNT movie and it was a non-stop action film that was competently made. I am expecting the same with this. I can get over the visual redesign and I will probably go see it with an open mind. I am cautious nonetheless, but I don't think it will be the end of the world.

They're going to drop all the 80's surfer slang out of Mike's dialog.

If I recall correctly, the 1990 film adaptation tracked Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's comics pretty closely. (Certainly, it tracked the comics much more closely than the animated television series.)

It really is a mixed bag with the 1990 film. There are parts where it does align well witht he comic and at other times it is very far off, as it tries to gear it towards kids. How the turtles behave and their fight with Shredder are not the same as the comics, however.

Nope. Origin is different, O'Neil is secondary, Jones is tertiary, and Shredder is brutally murdered. Nothing like the books.

I have reprints of the original comics, and while the film takes modifies some details from the source material and combines two related story arcs from the comics, the film and the comics share a common narrative. Moreover, several scenes from the comics were adapted directly to the films. Accordingly, I would not say that the film is "nothing like the books."

Poor choice of words maybe as both feature the signature characters and very, very few similar moments, but I dare to say you are splitting hairs here.

And I looked for the cartoon of Bugs Bunny getting split, but couldn't find it.

I kind of want to see the TMNT movie, as stupid as it'll probably be. Guilty pleasure I guess. I had fun the first time I saw the first Transformers movie. Before Pacific Rim existed it was fun seeing those big giant robots fighting on the big screen(hearing Peter Cullen again was cool too). It was a dumb movie, but a memorable spectacle for its time. It really should have ended there though, instead of him making all those pointless, stupid sequels...which he'll probably do with the turtles too

Still, I'm interested in seeing what he does with this first turtles movie. I'll give Bay credit for one thing, he understands nostalgia. Just like how hearing Peter Cullen's voice actually made you kind of want to see the first Transformers, seeing a Turtles movie that isn't full on CGI makes me think fondly of the one from 1990 when seeing those commercials on TV right now.

MR. MOM

Still incredibly funny and heartfelt. A must for anyone who loves Keaton.

And boy oh boy...Terri still had it.

I still have a blanket my mother made for me when I was 4. It wasn't a 'security blanket' and I didn't have a name for it, but I jokingly refer to it as woobie because of that movie.
