Tanooki wrote:My suggestion to you is two fold. 1) Do not put SRAM/FeRAM games inside the system at all. 2) If you want to, disable in the system menu 'copy save to retron on first boot' so it sees no reason to touch it.

I'm not sure that's 100% safe as I haven't even tried it, but I'd think if it never touches the chip, the chip shouldn't get screwed with. So if you do disable that thing and keep using it, that's what the hot saves and save states are for. Eventually when it is fixed, then you can copy a save back to the cart.
I've had the auto-copy feature off since I first encountered the issue with this particular game. I'm just going to play it safe and keep all SRAM and FeRAM games away from it for now, I got tons of other games that are EEPROM and Flash and will be all right.

I hope they come out with a separate "Pro" controller later on. I'd love to pick up a second wireless controller for mine, but I won't do it after hearing so many complaints.

Still waiting on my Amazon Black. Absolutely no word on it's arrival.

Was browsing around last night and noticed the Gray units are in stock over at Books-a-Million at the $140 MSRP for anyone that is still looking.

http://www.booksamillion.com/search?id= ... search.y=0

Also did a quick search for coupons and found a $20 off $100 code(JLB2GN2) that is valid till tomorrow. Brings the price down to $131.91 Shipped after taxes are added in.

I tried ordering one from booksamiion last night and it wouldn't go through. Called this morning and put the order in that way but the lady couldn't tell if they had any left saying that they are slow to update on certain products. The order went through but it will automatically go to back order if out of stock. I'm still keeping my march 27 amazon pre order till one or the other arrives but someone else at cheepassgamer thread sId they were out of stock but I havnt confirmed it yet. Here's hoping. Coupon code worked to 122.99 shipped if they have it. Not sure why no tax was applied.

Yup, saw a black and a gray both one in the booksamillion in Williamsport, PA yesterday at MSRP. The FYE in Selinsgrove PA has at least a couple as of yesterday too.

If someone really desparately needs one and wants to PayPal cost+shipping+$5 for gas, I can likely snag one for you...

noneed4me2 wrote:As for the 2 snes mine was in an active children's toy box for several years and a varmint infested garage for several others. Don't have much hope for it. It still powers on but no signal output at all. I did give my brothers a thorough cleaning with 96% alcohol and it does output a signal but just a black 4:3 screen. It probably can be fixed but I'd just rather replace it. I have a nes toploader I've been procrastinating modding for composite output. Already got the part off eBay just got to get off my ass and do it.

I have so many projects and I'm collecting for several systems. I've got to be choosy about where I put my money. I've just about finished collecting for my dreamcast, my main focus as of now is snes, gba and genesis for obvious reasons. I follow a guy on YouTube (Adam Koralik) and he's really helped with the DC. Got a VGA box, hdmi upscaler for it. Got a top max arcade stick and a dual blaze stick for it along with a pair of light guns. Love playing shmups and house of the dead with the family.

I've also got a nice 34" Sanyo 4:3 flat screen with svideo and component inputs and lightgun support. I hook all my retro systems to it and they look great on it. Have a nice 27 inch and a few other older smaller sets I keep around for older systems. Anyway that's just a little info on where I'm at in gaming. I'm not worried anymore what people think about my love for gaming at my age. My kids couldn't be happier about it.

Awesome. I'm 34 and retro systems are still my toys. I'm currently bouncing between Genesis and Dreamcast. I'm less about games at this point. I have what I want, I'm just more about accessories. I have a 2.5 year old and 2 new nephews. I'm looking forward to when we can all get down on some cool games. I can't imagine a kid not being exposed to classic videogames.

As for the RETRON, I can see it in my future. The pros outweigh the cons in my eyes, but i'm probably gonna wait until the holidays and hope for a price drop.

I just hope hyperkin can iron out their kinks in manufacturing and delivery of their products. It bugs the hell out of me seeing gougers on amazon and eBay trying to take advantage of peoples nostalgia.

I know most serious gamers try and avoid that stuff but people can still make a little money with some markup but going crazy and doing no business doesn't make much sense to me. There are several thrift stores around me that over price everything, beat to hell genesis and SNES sports carts priced above 10 dollars each that never move. I made an offer of 5 bucks on a genesis Aladdin loose beat up and they wouldn't go down on $8 price mind you that its been there over a year and I'm probably the only person showing an interest as I live in an economically disadvantaged area. Everyone thinks old games are some kind of gold mind. I thankfully have most of what I really want but I'm always on the lookout for deals. Garage sales tend to be best but I don't get out much.

Amazon isn't so bad on a lot of individual SNES games; a lot of good titles around 10 bucks (starfox used is an easy pickup at that price plenty available).

It's no different than the stupidity that happens when a new Sony or MS console comes out.
