Re: Microsoft Wants Radiant Silvergun For XBLA
They wouldn't have to do that much to it for it to be "accepted". I would think porting the code would be the biggest challenge.
Maybe some fresh artwork and possibly some anti-aliasing on the 3D stuff.
Plenty of games on XBLA or Virtual Console have "aged" -- doesn't mean they have to add new stuff.

Agreed. Just put it out there with up-resed graphics and leaderboards. We'll buy it.

...It's aged? It's a damn shoot 'em up. That genre is near invulnerable to age. Hell, Doom is on XBLA, don't you think that Doom aged?
Of course it did. Treasure could port Radiant Silvergun over to XBLA as is and it'd probably be a success, considering the rarity.

Wow that would be great news if it happens! Impressive MS is making a push for it.
Definitely one of my all-time favorite Saturn games. I felt it was accessible to pretty much anyone of any expertise. Treasure should spiff up the graphics to HD (switchable between classic / high polygon count modes?), and translate / subtitle the anime cutscenes. Heck if they can throw in an arranged version of the soundtrack that would make my day.

^^^ translation would be awesome - although if it's a typical Treasure style translation I'm sure we'd be none the wiser!

For the record I can't stand RSG, but I'd still love to see it hit XBLA and other download services. At least it would give more people a chance to try these things out for themselves, instead of the damned collector market profiteering off these things constantly, and at a higher percentage per unit than the original manufacturer did.

of course they do its a highly desired cult classic that normally goes for 100-200 dollars it would sell well even at a high price on xbla. I don't buy the whole its old thing cause plenty of people buy it now and plenty of people enjoy retro games or retro style games. Just give it an HD treatment with upgraded dolby sound and there ya go.

it would be nice to see, although most likely a total PITA to port the code. The saturn was very difficult to program for, and that's the understatement of the century.
off topic:
Its funny how the only motivation i have to buy a 360 is remakes of games I already own, i.e. rez. I don't think I'll ever buy one given the defect rate. hell, i don't think i'll ever buy a 360, wii, or PS3. If I do, it will be at the end of the consoles life span so that i can rack up a bunch of cheap games like I did with the PS2.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.
