I played 8bitKiller - and while it seemed like a great game, I personally found it quite difficult. ROM Check Fail, however, was a much more enjoyable experience personally - really unique gameplay with loads of great nods to retro classics.

Anyways, thanks for the list - i'm going to try out Rescue, Aether & Face Wound :)

I haven't played the majority of games on the list, but I do really enjoy Rescue the Beagles.

I thought you'd be more interested in the remake titles, most of which are retro themed; http://www.indiegames.com/features/inde ... 2008&gid=0

I'm going to run through the 2008 list of games once I get back home in a couple of weeks. Plenty of great free content that is definetly worth play, with retro appeal to.

Hmm...

I've played Rescue the Beagles, and it's a fun bit of time-wastey non-sense. It's nothing deep, but quite a bit of fun in an old school arcade game sort of way. Definitely check that one out.

As for the rest, I haven't played them (though I'd heard of 8-bit killer and Devil Ronin in passing before), but I'm definitely interested in checking them out sometime soon.
I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.
