Now what to do with that.....I'm thinking...Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons on my 3DS. hmm... decisions decisions.
Are they interchangeable with the 3DS those points?
The credits are interchangeable yes. I used one of my credits to purchase Links Awakening DX. This is a recent change.

So, all these fancy things happening with you guys getting free money and free games for buying Mario Kart that I don't understand, since I haven't been keeping up with this thread...

...Is it too late for me to take advantage of this? Almost bought a Wii U the other day, will likely be buying one this week.

The Mario Kart 8 deal is still good, but you have to register the game through club nintendo by July 31 to cash in on the free game deal

Excellent, thanks BMF!

I was hoping to use the ol' "Its my birthday I can buy myself a Wii U" routine, but looks like I would be one day late  Hopefully a free game is reason enough to take the plunge a day early. I'll report back once the master has made her decision

So, how does this DDP work? Or have I missed out on that one?

Is Pikmin 3 any good? What would you guys compare these games to? The games have never really interested me and it's the only one besides Wii U Party that I could consider. But it's free so... Hmmm...

Pikmin is good.

My best description would be, it's got the mentality of a 3D platformer, where you need to collect items and its much more adventure focused. But it does it through RTS or MMORPG like mechanics. You have real-time control of your character, and you harvest Pikmin by planting seeds. Then you take them out with you and throw them at things you want them to take care of. Either picking up components, tokens, or attacking enemies. Different color Pikmin also have different abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.

It's a very solid mesh of these ideas and there's not a lot of games like it. There's only games that are kind of similar, and Pikmin was likely first.

Overlord, for instance, is kinda like Pikmin.

I would also throw in, Little King's Story if you have ever played that.

Think of it as an exploration RTS. It can be as simple or as complicated as you can make it, sending out your pikmin all over the map to do jobs and multi-tasking, or being really focused on one team at a time. I have horrible experience with RTS, but this was very manageable, so it would be...RTS-lite?

The games are fun and visually amazing. Crazy creatures, amazing landscape and you can use the Gamepad to go into a first person camera mode which looks awesome. I loved it and devoured it quickly so it is a big thumbs up from me.
