It was a well done response. I don't think you owed anybody a response and more people got what you were saying than didn't but it helped to drive home the point of the article. You don't have to be a lifeless shut-in to get through your backlog.

Funny after reading this I was reminded I needed to put my games on backloggery I think I tackled part of the print-a-label/order-a-case stack(which doesn't include stuff I had on my shelf to have cases added hopefully). I think I'll try to tackle up to gc tomorrow then(save portables for the weekend that are in my binder right now). Darn you dsh you persuaded me to get more organized with that article...and man do I need some serious organization with that mess of a backlog....sheesh.

Wasn't planning to bump this, but oh man...if you thought the Kotaku commenters were "interesting" you should really see the bubbling rage exhibited by the parade of asshats on Kotaku's Facebook post about the topic, which someone pointed me to yesterday:

What is really most fascinating about so many of the FB comments about the article is that A) so many of them clearly didn't read it at all and are knee-jerking to the headline and B) so many of them seem compelled to speculate (with certainty!) about my personal and professional life (most assume I am an unloved neckbearded basement-dweller with no job who never has human contact).

I'd say the Kotaku website comments were probably 2/3 on point, 1/3 snark/dsiapproval. Facebook appears to be about 95% snark/disapproval.

When Facebook first came around and social media started taking over the Internet I thought that the start of non-anonymous posting would lead to more polite and more constructive communication on the Internet.

But no, it somehow made things even worse.

Got to love the "no-life neckbeard" comments. It's always so clear that people never actually read articles before giving their snarky, useless opinions. They need Cracked.com to give them funny soundbites. Too many words scares them.

Of course it's just idiots trying to make their idiot friends laugh by impressing them with their amazing witticisms.
