Alright, Claire B is done, which means Resident Evil 2 is complete!
That one took me 4 hours and 20 minutes, and I got a C rank again. No deaths this time, and despite the longer play time (which I honestly can't account for, didn't feel that long) it was a smoother run overall.
Its an excellent game, and I see why some folks consider it the best Resident Evil. I'd like to play it again at some point and play the opposite scenario, but for now I'm done.
3 left! I absolutely have to get back to Monster World and finish it off, I know I'm a little past half way, it shouldn't take long.

Yes, do this. You could have it done in a couple of hours, have a blast doing so, and it would let you sit down and give the last 2 games the time they deserve - they both are probably more enjoyable if you give them all of your attention rather than flicking between games. They're also reasonably lengthy.

Wonder Boy in Monster World is done!
It did indeed only take me a couple of hours to finish from where I left off earlier this summer.
I mentioned before that I never beat this game as a kid, so this was a win 20 years in the making.
The last two bosses were kind of a bitch (Power magic helped a lot) but overall it was a breezy game, and lots of fun.
Moving on to Metroid Prime. I'm not really in the mood to play it, but I aim to complete the list this year, and I fear that I'll shrug and let it go entirely if I leave it for last. So Earthbound will have to wait.

I'm looking forward to it!BoneSnapDeez wrote:And Earthbound is an AMAZING game. You will like it.
Just got to Phendrana Drifts on Prime and decided to take a little break.
The game is still beautiful after all these years, and I'm enjoying the music, particularly there in Phendrana.
Liking it so far, but its kinda tiring to play.

1. Mega Man 2 (NES) Beaten
2. The Legend of Zelda (NES) Beaten
3. Star Tropics (NES)
4. Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest (NES) Beaten
5. Earthbound (SNES)
6. Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)
7. Metroid: Other M (Wii) Beaten
8. Silent Hill 3 (PS3 HD Re-release) Beaten
9. Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) Beaten
10. Final Fantasy 9 (PS1) Beaten
Completed Silent Hill 3 (finally) and was impressed with the game, especially the atmosphere, and would consider it one of the best horror games I've played. The bosses were a bit on the easy side, but the puzzles and regular enemies are great. I think I'll be starting Earthbound next.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
With all the comments people have had about StarTropics, I'm going to go ahead and drop it from my summer list. I'll replace it with Shadow of the Colossus. I've been neglecting it for far too long. It shall be played.Cronozilla wrote:

- b. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past SNES
- c. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time N64
- 9. Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy PS2
- 10. Skies of Arcadia DC
I might drop a couple others, DKC3 seems unlikely since I still have been unable to find a copy and Skies of Arcadia might just take too much time.
I finished Spyro, and it was a fun game. The camera is exceedingly annoying, though.
I still haven't beaten Metroid Prime. I think there's just something wrong with me. I'm at the final boss, and I just suck at it.
I'm going to play Jak and Daxter next, I think.
Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
Well, I had hopes that I could shotgun Prime and finish it over the weekend, but its looking like I'm not going to make it.
Did an awful lot though. I found the x-ray visor and I'm currently wandering around looking for items and artifacts. I have five at the moment.
The game has definitely sucked me in.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
I love that game so much. It was a "day 1" purchase for me back in 2002, and it was like playing something from the future. I completed it in three or four marathon sessions, and I still consider it the very best GameCube game (and one of the very best video games on any console).CFFJR wrote:Well, I had hopes that I could shotgun Prime and finish it over the weekend, but its looking like I'm not going to make it.

3. Silent Hill (PS1)
4. Super Mario 64 (Wii VC)
5. LoZ: Oracle of Ages (3DS VC)
6. Half-Life (Steam)
7. Super Punch-Out!! (Wii VC)
8. Ys I + II (Steam)
9. Gunstar Heroes (Steam)
10. Phantasy Star (GEN)
Feels like forever since I've posted last, but I just didn't have much of a chance to with the sever move, Internet problems, and my sister coming home from Europe...
I had a nice post about Ys II too, but I totally forgot what I was going to say... But at least I can say I beat it!
On the day of the server move too haha. I liked the combat better than Ys I, and I felt there was a little more story too... but the mazes drove me crazy without any sort of guide. I did eventually resort to one when I kept on going around in circles for way too long ><; Not sure whether I like Ys I or II better because of that though... If Ys II didn't have the crazy mazes, I would of definitely liked it better. Still, I'm really glad I played both and I'm definitely going to seek out more Ys in the future
I've also started my next game... Super Mario 64
It's kind of weird playing it, since I know there are many, many people who have great memories of playing it as kids, but I don't since I've never owned an N64... still don't
(which is why I'm playing it on the Wii) It's good so far at least, even though I'm so bad at it
I think I have about... 28 Stars? I'm having a bit of trouble getting two more stars to get to Bowser again though grrr....
