What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

As I see it, almost everyone is basically awful, narcissistic, and arrogant. I basically just want to avoid every person, commitment to them, or interpersonal relationship at this point. I'd rather not go through the hurt of being backstabbed by people I have opened up to.
This is true of everyone, including yourself. It's just harder to see your own faults from your own perspective.

After realizing that all people suck in one way or another, the next step is to try and find people whose faults you can put up with (and who will put up with yours).

Frown: Office Depot is a slooooooowwwwww store to work at. -_-
If you're working front end or any interaction with customers yeah it goes by freaking slow(it's the same at harris teeter right now since they've got me working front end this week...forgot how slow it went by...). Gets annoying how it will get busy for a few moments and then it feels like you're probably standing there for hours waiting for someone to come up :?

:x - they have me working front end at this new store and since they have all of them with cashier codes(and I don't have one yet and probably won't have one even though I'm trained and should be certified to do everything cashier wise) they send me out for hours on end when it starts getting busy over these past few days. Garuntee you that i'm the only one that's staying out there long enough to get sunburnt. Good thing I only have two days left on front end after this weekend(so glad I'm getting my two days off this week)

Smile: The Fresh Market gave me a free $75.00 gift card to help with the art museum's event. That should cover eight cantaloupes and two pounds of prosciutto.

I spoke with a manager that I complimented weeks ago, and he was more than happy to help. This is so awesome. Saving to make money for a good cause gives me warm fuzzies.

Such good advice, and very true. I go through the same type of moments as Ryan and remembering this simple truth is really helpful in staying grounded...and humble. There are varying degrees of everything of course, but each of us is hardly qualified to place our own point on the scale.

Something I like to look for in people is an ability to recognize their own faults and a willingness to try and work towards mitigating the hurt that they cause others. Find that, and you have found someone worth investing your time and feelings in.
