Yeah, it was "based" on Will Eisner's Sunday-strip comic The Spirit.
In execution? No...just no.
What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Last movie I saw was Stranger Than Paradise.
It made me depressed because it made me feel like life is just a big waste of time....sorta. It was a good movie though.

"The Crow". I have an old VHS that I picked up from a video store's VHS sale.
You see, years ago, the two movie rental places discontinued VHS rentals, and sold off all their stuff. But sadly, the bulk of my VHS collection (roughly 20-40 tapes, possibly including stuff on blank VHS) is in storage, and I can't get to it cuz my parents owe money (about $800, I think).

Beowulf, Iron Man, Wanted, Pulp Fiction (at least up until the sodomy scene during the Butch story) and Bam Bam and Celeste (on Logo, so it was edited for content).
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I watched Lawnmower Man, Postal, The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, and Resident Evil: Degeneration in the last few days.
I hate you, Uwe Boll, and even if I think you stayed true to the spirit of Postal, I still want you to die in a fire.
The Gamers: Dorkness Rising...honestly, I kinda preferred the first, but this one still had some absolutely awesome moments in it. "Look Master. More slaves for the Lustpits!" Best line in the film right there.
Resident Evil: Degeneration was better than all three of the live action films. That doesn't mean much, but it's true.
Lawnmower Man...It kinda hurt, but I enjoyed it.

Just watched Raging Bull for the first time. Pretty interesting movie. I didn't know it was a biopic until after I was done watching it! (Not much of a boxing fan.)
Also recently saw Slumdog Millionaire. I would highly recommend that one. Awesome visual style and soundtrack with a pretty original concept for a storyline.

I saw The Day the Earth Stood Still. I never saw the original and I didn't know the story, but I figure the movie was about as good as it was going to get carrying the "save the planet" messege. Not really great, but worth watching.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
just watched The Big Sleep. I thought it was great, and the movie trailer is hilarious. The DVD included some exclusive scene cuts that had been discarded in favor of time and "character advertisement" for Lauren Bacall- who, by the way, was an awesome insolent actress.
