There just aren't enough copies of PDS for people to play, and I treasure mine. It is such an incredible experience, the mood, the tone, the story (and best battle system of any RPG). I don't even remember there being any comic relief in this game, it has a very unique feel. Unfortunately, it is quite short

There is a little comedy relief..but very little in comparison to the overall stark tone. We will never see the game though as I fear the rumors of the code being lost to time is just as stark as the game itself.

I love Phantasy Star IV. A LOT. Easily the best in the series and probably the best Genesis RPG too. I don't place it in the top-tier of 16-bit RPGs, but it's on par with games like Lufia II, Knights of Xentar, and Breath of Fire II. Good shit.

Grandia, Panzer Dragoon Saga and Phantasy Star IV are all incredibly underrated, as far as I'm concerned.

All are great, great RPGs that are never mentioned in the same way Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy etc are, but they're easily just as good.

I would. I think it holds up well against 16-bit Square and Enix RPGs. The story might not be as twisty, but I don't think a story has to be twisty to be good. And most of the characters are as fully realized, certainly.

I owe it to myself to play a phantasy star game, I own phantasy star collection on GBA, I think I just bought it cause it looked promising, but one day I'll get to it

Another maybe unpopular gaming opinion, Sega Saturn games suck, I have all the top titles and it's just like there is nothing else worth getting, I love the limited quality titles but overall, horrible.

Put up your dukes! Dem's fightin' words! Haha, that's ok, although I totally disagree. I find the Saturn's library to be some of the best and most replayable games. Saturn Bomberman, Dragon Force, the Panzer Dragoons, the Shining games (minus wisdom) and on and on and on. Seriously good stuff.

It is the unpopular gaming opinions for a reason though right?! :D

Unfortunately the GBA Phantasy Star Collection only contains the first three games, and part one has a bug that causes it to crash while saving sometimes.

To me the Saturn is similar to the SNES and PC Engine. You really need to start importing to get a full sense of what the system has to offer.

Isn't that true for every system? It's sad but true, almost every system has a ton of games and it seems like in america we only get a select few out of ones that would be truly great to have...sometimes it makes me wonder if the japanese out of greediness say "you want this game?screw you! mwaha ha ha ha" *sigh*
