Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
OK...My picks are Return Fire (a game that - like Military Madness - has graced my summer gaming challenge list for years) and Ys III: Wanderers from Ys (a game that several other members are playing for Together RPG). I have re-numbered my list so that the games remain in alphabetical order, and I will probably start Ys III next.prfsnl_gmr wrote: Here is my list for summer 2014:
1. Dragon's Lair
2. Flashback
3. Halo 2
4. Jumping Flash! 2
5. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
6. Military Madness
7. Return Fire
8. R-Type Delta
9. Virtual Boy Wario Land
10. Ys III: Wanderers from Ys

Bone is my man in Maine. I will dedicate my playthrough to him.Michi wrote:Bone will be thrilled.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I have re-numbered my list so that the games remain in alphabetical order, and I will probably start Ys III next.

When I eventually play the first Ys, I shall think of him....in a rocking chair, on a porch, playing the Ys theme on a banjo and waxing about the joys of all things Falcom.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Bone is my man in Maine. I'm moving into a house tomorrow with no porch.
But I'll still find a way to pay tribute. They don't call me the Furiously Fapping Falcom Fanatic for nothin'.

Kinda weird .... but this made me think of a Metroid themed Punch Out game ... and now I want it.TSTR wrote:Alright, I'm switching out Punch Out with Metroid. Started messing about with that tonight, game is too sick.
I finished Spyro awhile ago. I had to redo the final boss multiple times, because I couldn't tell that the platforms were receding. And if you don't run on two specific platforms, you won't make it.

Better yet...a Punch Out!!-themed Metroid game. That would be awesome.Cronozilla wrote:TSTR wrote:Metroid themed Punch Out game

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
I finished Leon A on Resident Evil 2. A couple of days ago actually, but the whole server thing...
Anyway, I only died 3 times, two of which were easily preventable if not for a sudden case of stupid. It took me 3 1/2 hours to finish, and I received a C grade. I thought I did pretty well, but I guess not.
I started up Claire B, and I'll be playing more tonight. I may be able to knock it out.
---
Also, since I mentioned picking it up a while back, I finished reading the Ico novel. It was very good, and I honestly enjoyed reading it a great deal more than playing the game. The author says that the developers gave her free reign with the story, and I think she nailed it. I prefer her version of events.
If you're curious about the book, I do recommend it, whether you liked the game or not.
