My stepmom stole my freaking Wii. She's had it for the past five years or so and refuses to give it up. Not a big deal because I'll be getting the Wii-U this year. However, I am ticked that most of my games are destroyed. Including games I never got a chance to play...
Enter: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Just emulated it on my poor laptop. Despite that it overheated after an hour of play, we had a great time. My daughter and I blasted through a few levels and had a great time. I thought it was a bit too easy, but that's alright. She's really young and still has a tough time jumping while moving. It's gotten me excited about getting Super Mario 3D World for the Wii-U.
What are you playing?
Re: What are you playing?
Been dabbing into Super Mario World myself after all these years. Bought some of the Mario's on the WiiU VC sale.
Makes me want to play SMB3, lol. I just still think SMB3 is the better game by quite a bit, feels like there's more to it too. I just wish it had a save feature and you could revisit levels like you can in SMW.

I just started up Kirby & the Amazing Mirror last night. It's really odd and not at all what I expected; very non-linear, which is a nice surprise. I'm looking forward to playing this.

Several hours sunk in so far with Solatorobo for DS. Man, those cutscenes look great, and really show what creativity and a strong art style can do, even if you don't have a graphical powerhouse. Playing it on a 3ds. Difficulty isn't high, but i hear new game+ ups the stakes a bit, although i'm having such a fun time that i don't care that i haven't died yet.
Will rectify that feeling soon anyway, as i'm awaiting the arrival of Megaman Zero Collection any day now!

About the save feature, that's what I've always said about SMB3 vs SMW.
I recently played through ever level of the All Stars version of SMB3, which I haven't done in a while. This was after playing through every level of SMW. One thing I noticed, which I've never noticed before, is how short all the levels in SMB3 are compared to SMW. I love both games, and a lot, but I'm gonna have to go with SMW. Better levels, flying was better, and it had fucking YOSHI. I know that SMB3 had all the suits, but let's face it, you were using raccoon Mario 99% of the time. Toad houses and the puzzle games are missed, but we had the Top Secret Area and Yoshi, so it's all good. SMW also had 9 worlds instead of just 8.

Put a few hours in Guacamelee via co-op this weekend. Guys this game is legit great. If you're into "metroidvania" style games, or just forward thinking platformers with brawling mechanics, don't miss this one.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

I think it's pretty good especially for free. It's legitimately funny at times too which you don't see often enough in games. I wish you could co-op online.Exhuminator wrote:Put a few hours in Guacamelee via co-op this weekend. Guys this game is legit great. I've been playing and sucking at Robo Aleste and Sol-Feace. Shmups are like basketball for me: I really enjoying playing I'm pretty bad though.

Vectorman and Vectorman 2.
Both games from the "Red Box" era of the Genesis. It felt like Sega's last attempt to keep people playing the Genesis, which was already aging. They did an awesome job, and I'm afraid not many people still play these gems.
